Since the Dolphins look like they will be picking 1st, I think they need to answer some serious questions before the offseason(add some if you want):

#1)Is Ronnie Brown a big time NFL RB? With D-McFadden expected to enter the draft, this one is paramount....

#2)Is John Beck the QB of the future? Brohm and Woodson loom on the horizon if he is not....

#3)Do any of the rookies have a future as a starter? Play them all and lets see....

Its time to turn the corner and put the Jimmy Johnson era in our rearview mirror....the Dolphins can do that by playing the youth and drafting well

What kind of cornerbacks are coming out? I think the Dolphins are going to have to start thinking about replacing Zachand Jason. Zach first, because it looks like his health may take him out quicker than Jason, who I think has several good seasons left.

I don't know much about John Beck, anybody want to tell me about him, but Brohm seems like the obvious answer if the Dolphins get the top pick.

I really like Beck from what I have seen. He seems to have excellent touch. I keep reading that he doesn't have a strong arm, but I haven't seen any evidence of that. He looks pretty accurate on all this throws even when his feet are in motion. He seems to have that coolness that QBs need in high pressure moment. (I'm thinking of the play where he threw the game winner to beat Utah.) The Great Bob Griese said that he noticed John talking to Zach about what Zach saw him do wrong so he could fix it. I know Beck wasn't playing against the first stringers, but he had a great preseason.

I don't think the phins will be drafting 1st w/ Buffalo and Atlanta out there stinking it up.

McFadden is overrated. Felix Jones is a better RB. I'd go w/ Hart from Michigan before either of the Hogs tandem.

I still say fix the OL. Long (Michigan) & Baker (So Cal) could be the franchise LT that phins have not had since R Webb.

Bottom line; I am not ready push the panic button yet there is still more than 3/4 of the season to go and some real winnable games ahead; Raiders, Browns, Giants, & Bills twice.

Why obsess over something you can't control?

Like I said in the disgusting thread, You have the "luxury" of watching them. I don't. The local affiliates haven't made showing them a choice. Its a possibility they will be on next week versus Oakland if they are then I will be all over it. I have better ways to spend my $ than to get some special package. In fact, I am more concerned about the U ofUtah. My brother said a friend told him it was like run, run, bas pass, punt. To which I replied, Just like the Dolphins a few years ago.... you know during the vanilla reign.

I plan on watching the MNF game against the Steelers &believe the game in London against the Giants will be available here in Utah and will watch that as well.

I have hard time believing that these mistakes can't be fixed. I do recall the interview w/ J Taylor saying he as well as the team were playing like crap.

So far, T Green is doing no worse that Joey or Jay or Daunte statistically.

Am I wrong is it the Run D & OL in addition to the mental errors that is the reason for alleged panic? I can't & won't panic. A wise man once told me a few seasons ago (04 I believe) that I can't control what happens so all I can do is 2nd guess and play armchair QB for an hour or two and then move on.

Beck is a smart, solid QB. Honestly he reminds me of Trent Green. He makes good reads, has a nice arm, and most of all is consistent. I dont know if he is a future NFL starting QB, but he has talent, he just isnt ready yet. He needs a year to learn the system and some game experience to catch up to the NFL speed. Ronnie Brown has talent, he just hasd to be given the opportunity to use it.

As far as CBs are concerned I really like Antoine Cason. Yeah, I am a UA fan and he plays for UA, but he is has the size, speed, and is a very good tackler. I dont know if he is a lock down corner in the NFL, but he has the tools to become a good NFL CB.

I speak from experience. Beck is the best QB to come out of BYU in quite sometime... probably since Ty Detmer. Of course, Steve Sarkisian ius tearing it up as Off co-ordinator for USC.

Will he be as good as McMahon & S Young? Only time tell. If this season continues to go down the crapper we may see Beck in but I doubt it.

I fully expected him to be brought along like P Rivers. It would not surprise me if the Beck era begins in 08. Green will stay as the wiley veteran backup/mentor. Cleo Lemon will be gone IMO. They will draft a QB. For now, Paul Smith from Tulsaimpresses me. He did okay against Utah in the bowl game last yr and lit up BYU a few weeks ago. He and Tulsa were just overmatched against OU.

I really wasn't expecting much out of the team this year and somehow they've done even worse than I expected. The mental errors from vets is the killer.

Last year I thought this team had something in them, I thought Culpepper had something to prove but after the dissappointment that was last season and the joke of a draft this year, I haven't had the urge to watch every minute of every game.

Luckily, I'm been able to see parts of them though, just long enough to think "Damn, J, that was yours man" and switch to another less depressing game.
