QUOTE

But even after helping Team USA to the Tournament of the Americas title, Kidd looks ready for the challenge of leading the Nets all over again as the team gets set to begin training camp in just over a week. "I feel great," said Kidd. "I'm in the best shape I've ever been in at this time of the year. Physically and mentally, I'm ready to go." New York Daily News

Kidd goes on to talk about how he felt that games weren't much of a challenge on his body, rather practices were much tougher. Good news to Nets fans.
-Petey

Re: Of course he does. He's from another planet. (alien) lol
He probably has about 3 years left at this level.

Re: I would have preferred he sit out the summer but this is good news you don't get with him sitting out.

Re: Yeah I am sure he feels in great shape due to the all the training he did with the national team. I dont think that will help him come the middle of the season. I think it would have been better for his NBA season if he sat out, but I think he will be fine. I think he will hit a wall at some point, but its Jason Kidd, he will find away to get through it.

Re: I don't expect him to feel otherwise. He still has that spring in his step, both shown last season, and during the summer, it's just evident. I'm glad he can still play at a high level, when technically, he should be on a decline. Not that he has me worried, but I'm hoping he "feels great" throughout the whole season.

Re: I guess he will be the iron man in the NBA, playing until he is from 42 to 45.
He is an amazing playerin the NBA. Recovering very well from his Knee Surgery.
A good leader of a team, a good mentor to the youngsters.

Re: Don't go too far, he'll probably play till age 38-39 at most.
Anyway, Kidd, as always, is surprising everyone and it's very impressive. Let's just hope that he can give us another superb season.

Re: I love how Kidd never gets worse year by year.
I find it funny how sports writers have given up saying that Kidd will wear down.

Re: The guy plays with his head now. Always done so and that keeps him ahead of the competition. He'll take offensive strategies adn use it on the defensive end to get a jump on passing lanes or sniff out drives etc. Keeping himself in the best shape of his life helps too.

Re: Jason Kidd is a marvel of medical science.
He's like fine wine, keeps getting better with age.
The analogies go on and on.

Re:
QUOTE (mynetsforlife)

Obvious lie, but it's good news.

And you know this, based on what? If he wasn't feeling "great", then he wouldn't have announced it. None of us would have got the wrong idea, if he stayed quiet all offseason, and didn't mention how his body was holding up.

If Kidd says, he feels greats, I believe him. You assume that at his age, his body should be breaking down slowly, because that is what happens to most other players. Well, all players are different. T-Mac says he's been feeling the wear and tear already, despite being only 28 years old. That's not something you hear often either, right?

Re: I honestly think his divorce extended his career. 1) More focus. 2) He gets to rest physically in the evenings.
Re: Can't compare TMac with Kidd or in fact players to players. TMac was playing an NBA schedule since he was 19. Kidd didn't enter until after his 21st birthday. Does it mean KG's going to breakdown soon? No, players are different. But what Kidd has done is amazing, coming of major knee surgery to have 2 productive seasons after, is simply amazing.

Likewise to what you said, players are different. That was my point all along.
