QUOTE

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban asked on Fox Sports Radio if he is going to buy the Chicago Cubs: "I'm going to try, but that's all I can say. They made it real clear that I can't comment on anything, guys. Otherwise I would. But I had fun, I was at the game the other night, it was a great comeback. That should tell you where my heart's at." -- Fox Sports Radio

AWESOME! I hope he yells are umps, runs onto the field... he should be a great owner, his public antics would make fans overlook the product on the field.

-Petey

QUOTE (TheBeef)

Selig isnt going to let him and its total bullshit....

It goes beyond Bud. The other owner in Chicago who knows and dislikes Cuban from the NBA doesn't want Cuban owning the other baseball team in the city. Bud and Jerry are very good friends and Jerry has tremendous influence in baseball. Plus, every small market team would vote against a deep pockets owner going to Chicago .
There is basically no chance of Cuban obtaining enough votes from the owners to have his big accepted.

When I first read the thread title, I thought the guy banging Shaq's wife was trying to buy the Cubs.
So that means he's losing interest on the Mavs? (since they're not winning any championships) lol

I hope he does end up buying the Cubs his a great owner and what player woudn't want Cuban as the owner. But then again this is going to make his job harder having the Mav's and the Cubs.

Whoever buys the Cubs will have deep pockets....the assumed price is between $600 million and $1 billion....the baseball owners are all old men with old money....they dont like new money, they dont understand new money, and they dont respect anyone that made their own fortune....if you didnt have trust fund, they dont want you....Cuban would be fantastic in baseball, but they dont want a loud mouth and hes very vocal....

Maybe I misread your comment wrong, but Paul Allen is the owner of the Portland Trailblazers and Seattle Seahawks

Mark Cuban is annoying. He's a good owner, though. He certainly couldn't hang around the dugout like he hangs around the bench.
He could bring in the Don Nelson of baseball to get the Cubs rolling, then feud him away. That begs the question as to who the Don Nelson of baseball is. Now that I think of it, it might be Lou Piniella, and he's already the manager.
I'd be excited as a Cubs fan if Cuban bought the team. His basketball teams at least are always competitive, and the Cubs haven't even been that until recently.
