Butch Davis signs a contract with UNC to become their head football coach. This is a huge signing, because Davis will bring in lots of stars who want to play with a former nfl coach.
Yea but Butch Davis wasn't very good in cleveland.. Of course his team was less then steller.. but Davis wasn't very good

That team was actually in a down time and had been hit with scholarship sanctions by the NCAA. He had only 15 scholarships a year to work with as compared to the standard 25. He cleaned up that program as well. He removed the thug reputation during his tenure there that has unfortunately worked it's way back into the system. Arguably, Larry Coker's success can be credited to Butch Davis as well. He inherited Butch Davis' team and won the National Championship with them. I think that you can tell what kind of impact a coach is trully having on a team in college football starting with their 3rd season. By that time, the prior coach's recruits are gone and the current coach's recruits become the focus of the team. Funny that Coker's 3rd year as a head coach is when Miami started to hit a decline and the thug attitude started to work it's way back into the program. My point is that Butch Davis will be great for UNC. You will see some of his impact immediately because he is a great defensive mind, but in 3 years after he's gotten the recruits he wants, look for UNC to start surprising teams in the ACC.
There will likely be two new former nfl head coaches in the ACC with Davis, and likely Bill Cowher, who is a NC State alum, lives in NC and wants to spend more time with his family, which he can do and coach at nc state.
If you want to say that there is a slim possibility that Cowher would be interested in the NC State job, I can see where you might draw that conclusion, but to say its "likely" is just stupid....
I sure hope S Florida has alot of players. Its going to be tough recruiting w/ Davis competing against other former Cane coaches; Wannstedt & Schiano.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BearsFan1)</div><div class='quotemain'>man i was hoping Miami would get davis. Oh well, time to steal schiano</div> Davis said that he had no interest at all in returning to Miami. I don't think he felt like cleaning up that program a second time.

A new report has come out. UNC hasnt signed him yet, and cant untill the end of the season, which leads other teams to start pushing more money towards Butch Davis way. they cant hire him now because they cant have more than 10 coaches and they already have 10 football coaches

He will not end up at another school. Davis will be the new head coach at UNC not Miami or Michigan St.
