Kiffin said Culpepper was pointing to this game the second time the two met, hoping to extract a measure of revenge.
Revenge for what? This is one story line that is getting under my skin. The whores of media are missing some glaring truths, so let me point them out.
1. The Dolphins paid Culpepper 8 million dollars to play a couple of games and rehab. What are the Raiders paying Culpepper? I don't remember hearing, but I bet it ain't 8 million.
2. Culpepper has whined and cried about not having gotten a chance to win the QB spot in Miami this year. So, what does Culpepper do? He signs with the Raiders who spent the first pick of this year's draft on a QB. Do you really think Culpepper has a shot at winning the Raiders job and keeping it? No, this is an audition to find a more permanent spot onanother team. I guess Daunte will be looking for revenge against the Raiders next season. Of course, that's assuming he plays well enough to get another starting job.
3. Culpepper wasn't happy with the Dolphins hanging on to him and trying to trade him. Too freaking bad. The Dolphins traded a second round pick to the Vikings and paid Culpepper 8 mil for his services. The team had a right to try and get something for him. Too bad that no one in the NFL was willing to offer the Dolphins anything for Culpepper. Perhaps Daunte should seek revenge against the whole NFL.
Culpepper needs to suck it up and quit crying. The Dolphins didn't do anything to deserve this talk about revenge. They paid him for his time and effort.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/foot...s.ap/index.html

I'm not totally copacetic w/ how Cameron handled the situation but that's life in the NFL.
Though, I do like the current QB depth chart and I believe a reason for optimism.

"Revenge" is crap. All Culpepper has to do is protect the ball and give us a chance to win. McCown doesn't do either.
The Raiders have bigger things to think about than a new guy getting revenge on his old team.

Are they spinning the truth in this article? Anyone, find a "quote" from Kiffin that can be interpreted as DC getting revenge on his former team. I have been reading the Bay Area papers all week, but must have missed that little piece of bulletin board material.
I personally believe that DC is only concerned about getting and maintaining a starting QB position. It is coincidence that Miami happened to be the team they play following McClown's injury, giving DC a chance to prove for 4 quarters that he should be the starter. Right now, DC needs to prove this to Lane Kiffin, not the Miami Dolphins. If Daunte just plays mistake-free football, and teaches anything to Jamarcus Russell, he might have done enough to get what he wants out of all this. As far as Daunte getting revenge on Oakland next season, that's not going to happen. Oakland already made it clear that he is only here for one season and Oakland will beat whoever he plays for next year.
Daunte was only there for one season, and he had a different coach. I can't imagine anyone who would be all bent out of shape this far removed from the situation in training camp. It sounds like the reporters are giving him leading questions or something.

Good game Dolphins. You have a great RB in Ronnie Brown. Joey Porter is still running his mouth, some things never change. I wish you guys luck the rest of the way. I hope that you guys get a new head coach. Kris Kristopherson apears to be another Norvell Eugene Turner.

I wish I could have seen the game. I first saw Culpepper's passing stats and wondered how in the heck the Raiders whupped the Dolphins. Then, I saw Justin Fargas rushing yards. 179 yard???? Justin Fargas???? Are you kidding me? Is Fargas that good? How did the Dolphins D become a group of girly men so quickly?

It does help when you play Miami's poor, injury riddled defense though. Cable's zone blocking scheme seems to be a beast no matter who runs behind it, it may turn out results similar to that of Denver's running offense. Culpepper only had to throw the ball 12 times the whole game and got 2 passing TDs and 3 rushing TDs. Dude scored 30 points by himself.
BTW Fargas only got those touches because LaMont Jordan got injured in the first half. Had Jordan stayed healthy you could have added that to his 70 yards prior to whne he got injured.

You were better off not watching that game. For example, in the 2nd Qtr down 14-7, Ronnie breaks a long run down to near the goal line and moments later Green throws his 2nd Int. Green's hesitancy, poor decisions, and slow starts are killing the phins. They almost would have been better off keeping Joey H. If not for Peelle & Ronnie, the phins would have had no offense yesterday. As usual, Chambers & Hagan dropped several easy ones.
Its too early IMO to make a call on Cam. He's got Ronnie going. Now, if he just get Greento go and hopefully Capers finds someway to light a fire under JT & fixthe run Dthen7-9 or 8-8 is still within reach.
