Pietrus' agents, Bill McCandless and Happy Walters, said several teams are calling them and the Warriors to discuss the fourth-year forward, but no deal has been struck at this point. If Pietrus does not sign the Warriors' one-year, $3.47 million qualifying offer by Oct. 1, the deal expires and the team retains its right of first refusal.

Well, the guy hasn't really improved all that much as a guard... There's always the fear he can't improve that much because his basketball sense and mental abilities aren't that high. He's got good natural ability as an athlete, but I think he is not consistent because of his mental ability.

Well, at this point, any sensible person will sign a qualifying offer from us, and I think Pietrus will do so before 10/1...

I kept hearing that Toronto wanted him. What happened there? I know they signed Kapono, but it isn't like you think to yourself, "we need a wing, like a Pietrus or Kapono type." They're almost completely dissimilar.
