So I've been begging my parents to get me an IPod for a while now. So far this semester, I've been getting excellent grades, straight A's, which is something I've never done before in my whole life. My parents were really impressed and came home last night with an IPod Nano for me. For some reason they got me the new IPod Nano, which is shaped likea square. I believe it is about 4 gigs:

So I've got my IPod, so now all I need to know is how to use it. lol. It didn't really come with an instruction manual, so I'm pretty much clueless. I have a couple of questions, so hopefully you guys can help out.
1. Where are the sites you guys go to to download music, and can you explain to me how it works?
2. Approximately how many songs can a 4 gig IPod hold
3. Does the square IPod look kind of awkward? Because when I first saw it, I was like wtf. But I guess I can get used to it.
4. How do you charge the batteries?
5. Where do you go to download videos?
6. How do you upload CDs and stuff onto an IPod?
7. How durable are IPods? They look fragile as hell, but my friends tell me they're practically unbreakable
Those are all my questions for now, but I'll probably have more later. Thanks in advance

1. You can download music using iTunes. 2. Around 800-900 3. Yes. 4. Plug it into your computer using the USB cord. 5. Anywhere online 6. Use iTunes 7. Pretty durable.

Doesn't ITunes cost money though? Aren't there sites where you can go to download for free? Like Limewire? The only problem is I have no idea how to use Limewire. If it's against the rules to talk about it on here, you can just pm me

Ok, well since Limewire doesn't have a basketball forum, I'm sure it is ok to talk about. Go to limewire.com, it will have a download button some where. Download it, open it, and search for music.

Yes you have to pay using iTunes. Downloading songs using limewire is illegal. Feel free to use it though. You really don't need instructions to use limewire.. lol just search for the song and download.

You could put your CD's in iTunes but you have to download iTunes first you could download free music in limewire.

Why are IPods crap? lol.
Thanks for the answers guys, but one more thing. How do you download TV shows and stuff, and is it free if you get it off of Limwire?

All of these people claim iPods to be crap, yet I've never had a problem with any of mine, nor has anybody I know. A lot of the people who claim iPods to be crap just go along with tech nerds (not calling u either, NTC).

I have a 2 GB nano and love it.

I download my music off of Soulseek and Bit Torrent sites. It's very simple to use once you get the hang of it.

One of her friends had 5 different ipods after sending them back with battery problems. Just alot of people I know with iPods have troubles with them, battery problems or them just falling apart after a while. The surface is prone to scratching aswell.

I do agree with the scartching. I don't know, I've heard a lot of battery issues on all of Apple's products, so I guess I'm just used to a bad battery?

The only problem I have with it is the scratching. I suggest getting a case for all you guys concerned with that.

QUOTE (Dark Hero)

Don't wrap the earphones around the Ipod it f***s them up.

You got a suggestion on where we should wrap it up then?

I just got replacement headphones for free from Apple and what I do to prevent the headphones from ruining is unplugging them from the iPod and then wrapping them around...I dunno if it'll solve any problems but at least the cord wont be stretching when your not using the iPod.
