QUOTE

The agent for restricted free agent Anderson Varejao is asking for $10 million a season, a league source said. The Cavs have reportedly made a counter offer, probably about $6 million a season, or more than the midlevel exception ($5.3 million). Varejao has never made as much as $1 million a season.
Published reports said agent Dan Fegan and Cavs general manager Danny Ferry were to meet this week. It's unknown whether the 6-foot-10, 240-pounder would be signed by the beginning of training camp on Monday.
Swingman Sasha Pavlovic, another restricted free agent, is also unsigned.

Fegan is just doing things to try and get his client signed.

First he tried to elicit an offer from another team (which Cleveland would almost definitely have matched).

That is obviously not happening, so now he's focusing on Cleveland.

This is really nothing out of the ordinary.

i don't think he deserves more than 4 million. he's got no offensive game, and pretty much lost a game for the Cavs in the playoffs (against Detroit, or San Antonio? i'm forgetful). he's not even a starter, and he only plays less than 25 mpg.

I wouldnt pay him more than 6 mil per right now. He wants 10 mil to do what? Play 25 minutes, flop, rebound, and play some defense?
