By the way, the Nets have added Jumaine Jones to their training camp roster.

I like this addition. I wish they could've added him last year. If Houston doesn't come here (which I'm hoping he won't), I hope Jumaine shows what he's done in past seasons with the Lakers and Bobcats and makes it on the team.

I think Jumaine has a good shot at making the final roster if he does what he did when he was on Charlotte. I was hoping for him last season but him not getting off the bench on Phoenix is a bit suspect even though they had depth at his position.

Roster math complicated by Williams injury.

    Looks like:

--13 guaranteed contracts: Kidd, Carter, Jefferson, Krstic, Magloire, Collins, Nachbar, Robinson, Wright, Williams, Boone, Williams and Ilic.

--1 partially guaranteed contract: Hite. (14 total)

--3 vets with non-guaranteed deals: Allen, Jones, Gill. (17 total)

--3 D-League/international playerswith non-guaranteed deals: Benson, Cleaves, Freije. (20 total)

    --and Allan Houston.

An NBA team can only bring 20 players into camp. So if Houston arrives (and the non-guaranteed guys are all still in camp), then someone has to be sent home (Jones?). If the Nets pick up a third string point guard like Darrell Armstrong, then someone else has to go.

Eddie Gill? Come on, man, let's not even waste an ounce of time with him. Darrell Armstrong, I would look at, but Gill's not even worth it.

agreed. we really have to look into adding Darrell, or we could just really hope Hite does better in training camp than anyone ever expected.

Can Hite play at the point guard position?

By the way, Darrell Armstrong is 39, he is very old.

he did pretty good last year.

And the verdict's still out on Hite. Maybe he can play point guard, maybe he can't...but with his height, you'd expect him to have SOME point guard experience. Who knows.
