I think it was about the only move Miami could make after Schiano turned them down. Nothing against Shannon because he's done a very good job as D-Coordinator, but I don't think this Miami job was regarded very highly by most available coaches. It's a system that needs to be cleaned up and there are substandard facilities to go with it.
