I'm playing 2k8 with subs, and my question is why do players like Ginobili or Marbury get matched up with Nene at the PF position? Is there a way of fixing this stupidity?

You can change matchups during the game in the drop down menu using the D-Pad, cant remember which direction to click on but its there...also for an easier way to do player matchups just pause the game, go to coaching and player matchups and make your changes from there. Thats the only suggestion I can make, if your PGs are still getting matched up against PFs then I have no real answer for you....

I have a question of my own....So I pretty much play Assosiation in 2K8 and what really annoys me is the substitutions, ill explain. So I begin a game and all my timeouts and subs are set to automatic in coaching on the drop down menu so every game I have to constantly change it, sometimes I forget and I get messed up subs and timeout calls made by the AI. Now I have searched all over the options and coaching and such in the game menus and not have found anywhere where I can permantly set these settings so I dont have to keep on changing them during the game, if its possible can anyone tell me how to do it?

Also has anyone ever dunked over the car in the dunk contest?? And what dunk did it work with?

I think you have to change your coaching settings before you start your association. I know thats not the answer you wanted, but I'm pretty sure this is the same problem that was in 2k7

Unfortunately, you have to change your coaching settings to manual before every game. It's stupid and annoying in a way, but at the end of the day, it takes literally 5 seconds of your time. I've learned to live with it.

About the dunk contest, every time I attempt to dunk over anything big, I fall flat on my face.

Dang, thats really annoying...yeah I didnt mind it at the beginning but some games when im really getting hot with a player he gets subbed out by the AI because I forgot to change the settings...oh well I shall keep trucking. And I must have tried for an hour to dunk over the car while doing dunk school but kept falling on my ass...that Igoudala sure is a trooper.

Actually, I forgot to fully clarify that it's the opponent who ends up putting PG's at the PF position. How do I fix that?

I dont know, that has never happened to me...that kind of problem could really ruin the experiance for some people, if it contines just throw the ball to your PF in the paint so he can score easily over the PG, that'll teach the AI to try anymore snake moves.

It seems as though the computer is putting the point guard in at center, but it really isn't. When they make the substitution, for example let's say they put Jerry Stackhouse in the game for DeSagana Diop, the substitution screen will show you Diop's picture being replaced by Stackhouse's picture at the center spot. I assume that's what you're referring to, right? Well, that doesn't mean Stackhouse is actually playing center. Click up on your D-pad, and you'll notice that Stack is really at SG or SF. Even if he weren't, you can modify your player matchups in a few seconds.

Tell me, I havent played the 2k series in a while, but in every nba draft i did, the rookies were always unbalanced. For example, I would draft a center 6'10, 260lbs or so, and he would have a 85 low post scoring stat, but a 55 inside shot stat along with a 60 offense awareness stat. Has 2k8 resolved this problem?

Ugh, I played this for about a month from when it came out and haven't touched it since. I think I'm burned out on basketball games after eight or so iterations.

I'm still going hard, lol, playing 1-2 games a day. I'm 41-15 in my association and have one more game in February (playing all 82, 10 minutes per quarter, no simming). I still can't get enough of this game.

I'm really suffering not having my 2k8 at college with me. Over thanksgiving break I got started in my franchise and loved every minute of it. It's probably the first time I'm playing a 2k basketball game where I want to play every game.

Still playing and still never attempted the dunk contest. Way to hard.

Nets fans, Sean Williams is amazing once you boost his stats.

Here's the scary thing about Sean Williams: I maxed out his dunking, block, and defensive awareness and boosted his shooting ability. The first game I played he got 15 pts, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals....WORSE than his first real start in the league!

When I'm playing a game, my player matchups keep switching. For example, my PG gets stuck with the opposition's Center. I go to the coach menu, and an attempt to switch it. It seems to work, until I play defense again. That's when they get mixed up again. What's the deal?
