Rock4life gave me the idea of starting up this thread. I'd like everyone to post any predictions they have for the team this year. Anything Rockets-related, such as:

[*]how many wins will we get
    [*]end of the year awards
    [*]player stats
    [*]playoff seeding
[*]how far we get in the playoffs
    [*]who excels, who tanks
[*]anything else you can think of
I predict 55 wins, 2nd in the division, and a fourth seed. Adelman will be a strong coach of the year candidate. Yao makes 1st Team All-NBA, and Tracy makes 2nd Team All-NBA. I predict Mike James will end up having a more significant role on the team than Steve Francis (more MPG, more often on the floor in the closing minutes).

Fairly conservative predictions for me, at this point. I might come up with some more after some preseason games.

I predict a 52 win and 30 loss season 3rd in Southwest division for the Rockets for the simple fact we have a new offence and plenty of new personnel and we will not be done jelling until right before the playoffs and the playoffs are the time i believe they will light it up.

53 wins, 2nd in the Division. I predict this year, for the 1st time, Tmac will get past the 2nd round.

I have a feeling Scola's gonna surprise. (or meet expectations, depending on what different people think of him)

Tmac's gonna lead the team in assists, Rafer's gonna get traded, and Bonzi Wells will have a big impact on this team.

[*]I predict Chuck Hayes doesnt play the minutes he played last year under JVG
[*]I predict Luther Head has his best year
[*]I predict a really HUGE midseason trade
[*]I predict we'll end this year still looking for a starting PF
[*]I predict Bonzi score double figures off the bench
Oberto or Scola?

    - 54 Wins

    - 4th seed in western conference playoffs

    - Scola Starts but evenly splits minutes with Hayes.

    - Bonzi will be our biggest bench contributor

    - I have know idea with our PG situation. Sorry. Ok I'll take a wild guess and say that Francis starts.

Might as well go all out here and say 60. I gather that's the popular one amongst analysts these days.

If we won 52 games last year, this year's roster with a healthy TMac and Yao should make 60 seem attainable.

I guess many of us aren't willing to put all our eggs in one basket with new coach, new players and, more importantly, new system.

You can have the best players, but they have to work well together. Also add the injury woes (knock on wood) that we havn't shurgged off since the Yao/Tmac Duo came together.

I predict they come out of the West. I think they're that good. Adelman is a great coach and will show it why the Kings made a mistake letting him go. Also Bonzi will play much better this time around, Francis too.

Rockets will be an exciting team to watch all season long. (in the playoffs as well)

Ha, my bad. thanks for catching that, dakeem.

So Francis starts? Hm, I'm hoping to find out about that one, because I'm not so sure he's still the player he used to be. We'll have to wait and see with that one...I was expecting Mike James to start, to be honest.

Some of you are really conservative in your estimates. Anyways, my predictions:

    58 win season

3rd in Conferance, 2nd in division

Nba Champions, Game 6 against Cleveland ( I refuse to believe in the Boston hype).

Although Adelman has not been known to go deep into the bench, I think he will fully utilize our bench depending on who our opponents are, meaning expect everyone to get some playing time. While it won't be in the same game, they certainly will get them in other games.

I also predict that no matter how well Hayes plays, Rock4life will continue to bash him.

I was at the bookstore today and was flipping through all of the season preview magazines. All of them had us finishing third in the division.

I also made the worst decision of my life. Bought the CBSsports.com preview and flipped through it only to find that it was entirely written by Hoopsworld staff.
