Well...I'm watching another one of his games right now...I think he is the real deal...He is very mobile and has good touch with a fairly strong arm....He really impresses me no matter what level of competion he has to face....The throws he makes are with NFL precision and he is much more mobile than I had anticipated....He is going to be very good at Notre Dame...I think he could definately challenge for the starting job considering he will be graduating early so he can enroll immediately..He definately seems motivated to be in the NFL and be a star....I think he cna be great in replacing Brady Quinn...Obviously, he does have some questions about his throwing motion and the level of competition he has faced...Overall, I am impressed with him again and he should be good in college...I hope he gets the oppurtunity to start...What do you guys think?
the throwing Motion.. HAHAHAHAHAHA some people said that about vince young too... Boy oh boy.. Sorry all but I don't buy into the he is too small, has no throwing power, lacks mobility, Bad throwing motion.. that kind of crap... Because 1 thing always reigns supreme and thats you can't measure someones heart and desire to win..
Yeah I agree.....He also proved himself against a very good St. Bonaventure tam leading his team to a dominating 59-13 victory throwing for 224 yards and two td's... I've heard his throwing motion is fine as he's got a quick and consistent delivery. I watched some film of him on the net, but it wasn't the best quality and it didn't show me a ton. He did complete a 15 yard out pattern on the film though and that's one of the tougher routes to complete accurately. He doesn't seem to have a strong arm for throwing the ball deep. The scouting report I read said he did play at a smaller school and things seemed to come too easy for him and that's what I saw too on the film. It didn't look like a challenge at all. That's not all bad though. Colt McCoy had a great year for Texas and he came out of a 2A school in Texas.
Well, today he threw 3 interceptions....1 was a tipped ball....1 was him on a rollout and throwing a laser but it sailed on him and got picked....and the other one was with 10 seconds left in the 1st half when he just threw one up on 4th and 11 trying to make soemthing happen.....Overall, he had his worst game at high shcool but managed to pull it off making it a 43-0 record as starter i believe....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DaPackersGb)</div><div class='quotemain'>How old is he?</div> Well since he's a senior in high school he has to be 17 or 18
So hes a year or two older then me. I see...Hes going to ND? Hope he gets to the NFL Good luck with him.
Clausen could have a big play WR to throw to if both players stay committed to the Irish. Golden Tate who's from Hendersonville, TN committed verbally to the Irish this week. He's only 5'10 180 lbs., but ESPN ranks him the 3rd best WR in the country. He's also a highly touted CB, but the Irish intend to play him at WR for now. He's a great kick returner. I saw some film on him and all I can say is wow. "Lightning in a bottle" was a quote used about him and I have to agree. I heard Tom Lemming compare him to Ted Ginn.
Lets not let this thread devolve into another one on how great Notre Dame allegedly is/could be. Get back to me on Jan 4th if the Irish win then we can talk about this particular hypothetical.

Weis has a great recruiting class so far if he can keep all the verbals he's already gotten. He's outdoing Pete Carroll so far and that's saying a lot since Carroll has had the best recruiting class the last few seasons.

I could swear I've read Texas as having the best recruiting classes the last 2 years with USC a close 2nd. As for The Irish, You even said if all the verbals actually commit. If I had my choice between USC or ND there would be no choice I'd be headed to LA. I can't wait to see where Florida ranks the next few years. If Urban can recruit players to the U of Utah then he should clean up in a football hotbed.
