Player to watch
After failing to get him three summers ago, the Nets are happy they finally signed Malik Allen last month. The 6-foot-10 Allen has run some with the starters and looked good by many accounts.
"He's a true veteran," Kidd said. "He can shoot. He can run the floor extremely well and he's smart on the defensive end.
He comes from teams that have played defense -- Chicago and Miami. He understands the schemes and he's a big complement to the bigs because he can stretch the defense."
http://www.northjersey.com/page.php?qstr=e...2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk2

Allen is another quintessential Frank type of player. Benson may be more entertaining but Malik is the better choice to be at the end of the bench for us.

Tell me how to use Collins, Krstic, Magloire, Sean, Boone, Allen,

we have too many players to play, I have NO IDEAS.

don't worry; at least two of them will suffer major injuries. Hopefully, one won't be Boone. He needs to play a full season.

The great thing about our runs to the finals was our depth. I mean Kmart had all those suspensions, you slide an RJ in to the starting lineup, or if Kittles is out, you stick Harris in there. Then Mutombo goes down the whole season, we put Twin in there. Having a numbers problem is always a good thing. Do we miss a starter in this league by cutting Benson or Hite? Probably not. I mean we are building a team to win it now. Seems RJ and Krstic will be the bridge to the next group of Nets after Kidd is gone. Hopefully Williams can be the starter when Kidd is ready to retire. You toss in guys like Sean Williams and Boone, how does Benson fit into that group? Cutting Benson or Hite is not the end of the world. We have a nucleus to the future.

Cutting Benson and Hite is the end of an entertaining world.
I wouldn't be disappointed with Malik making the team if it weren't for him taking Jumaine Jones' spot.

Well can't he take Boones minutes right now and proove that he's worth it here since Boone isn't ready for training camp?

Oh he will take Boone's minutes, Boone will need to rehab his way, then take advantage of opportunities. That's what competition is all about, you go hard to earn your PT and that makes you better which in turns improves the team, so all these numbers, lead to competition, which lead to improved ball players and improves your team overall. Competition is good, the hard part is for Frank to trim the numbers working alongside Thorn and Stef....and probably Rat's accountant(but hopefully not).
