First of all I would like to acknowledge the fact that many sports websites have at least given a list of players who were snubbed and deserved a spot in the pro bowl. Blah, blah, blah. But though they seem to take it very hard on certain players like Warren Sapp, Tom Brady, Brian Westrook, Ray Lewis. and Terrell Owens (yeah, I can't believe it either).

But before we start pointing fingers at the fans, think about this. Would we be so hard criticizing those who seem to be hypocritical to those of the media? Sure, they seem to blow such small incidents into stories that makes national headlines. But why should be stoop low to their level. We know that the BSC rankings are seriously flawed. And so is the voting for the pro bowl. Believe it or not, there are people who spend days voting for their favorite players to go in, most notable is Rex Grossman. I have yet to vote for a pro bowl though. But those players who should but not go in, wouldn't you think they are somewhat motivated to prove them wrong by having possibly their best games remaining in the season and possibly in the playoffs?

My example would be Ray Lewis, yeah kind of obvious huh?

Anyways, this is possibly his last best season of his career. And yet he is an alternate. Then there are those who barely played a full season, like Tony Homo, I meant Tony Romo. But he deserved to go in for the basic fact that there is no such thing a competition in the NFC. McChoke could have went if he wasn't on IR. But look at Shawne Merriman. This is a guy who abused the substance policy and still made the pro bowl. I was talking with a few friends of mines yesterday and they said "the only reason he went in is because he is a better player." I had to jump on that and say "DUH, you idiot. Ray is what, over 30 years old and he is clearly a better player in his career and only missed two games. How would you expect someone who was suspended to make the pro bowl over someone who was out with an injury." They immediately shot back and said "Ray deserves to go to prison rather than pro bowl."

And I just hate the fact that those who shy away from the losing teams and immediaty think that they don't have great players so I won't vote for them. That is true, but what about those who are dragged down because of their team's failures. And those who don't deserve it because they are on a good team and there are more worthy ones. *cough* John Lynch *cough*

That there, is motivation for Ray to still prove he is still one of the best linebackers in the league.

Now, to all of the packers and bears fan skipped all the way down to see what I have to say about Favre.

I know that this is going to be the last time he might paly and Lambeau. And it's a shame I can't watch it because I don't have the NFL Network. But I hate the fact that people are already wondering if he is going to come back. HELL NO! He is going to retire. He took too long to say he is going to come back and hinted that he is going to retire after. He should start stirring up the media and making useless headlines about he should/could/would come back for another year.

Look Favre, your team isn't going to be near the playoffs again. And you should let Aaron Rodgers take the helm for the team that is rebuilding. And I know that you are still able to play because you still have the passion and your body is "okay." But you shouldn't, unless you selfishly want to because you want to break Dan Marinos TD record. Those "Favre retirement" headlines are one of my most hated stories behind "TO and the next episode of his antics."

    END RANT

Funny that Green Bay needs to win out which is very possible if the Bears rest their starters. If the Falcons lose once, Giants lose out, and Rams lose once and the Packer win out they are in as the wild card. They would hold the tiebreaker over Atlanta. I'm not saying it will happen but they are right in the thick of things if they win tonight.

In the NFC and with the cap Green Bay has to spend which is 30 mil next off season, I think Green Bay has a realistic shot at pushing for a wild card next season with or without Favre (though Favre is a better QB than Aaron Rodgers)

As for "He is going to retire." Bold words for such a speculation. Frankly I think he'll come back. I don't care what anyone says. He likes to play but records mean something as well and if this team get's to 8-8 or 7-9. Why not come back? He came back after a 4-12 year.

I think Ray deserves to be there.. Merriman is a man beast.. but with the suspension i rank him with romo in the not deserving category.. John Lynch getting in is a freaking Joke...

lewis has been a good MLB this season on one of the most dominant defenses in the league.. But its about popularity.. and lewis is getting older and people are forgetting he plays the game.. i am sure it will happen to Urlacher in his career too.. except urlacher is deserving of his probowl selection..

As far as ray needing to be in prison.. if he should be in prison.. then Merriman needs to be banned from the game for cheating

I won't apologize for Zach Thomas going over Ray Lewis. Zach has more tackles and a bunch more assists and more passes defended. (See for yourself on NFL.com) Zach got his fair share of Pro Bowl snubs early in his career too. Personally, I'd rather have Zach Thomas on my team, over Ray Lewis, any day of the week. If that makes me a homer, so be it, but Zach brings the production and his character has never been an issue.

I hope he comes back. Us Packers fans love the guy and hope to see him play. We will miss him if he leave. [IMG]

I hope he makes a decision early this year. Last year was just ridiculous. He needs to make one before free agency so our front office and can figure out what to do.
