I made this thread to discuss what are the teams weaknesses. You can only talk about those that are in the playoffs NOT THE OTHER 20 TEAMS!!! I would like to start off with the wild card game that looks rather interesting if I say so myself. #6 Kansas City Chiefs at #3 Indianapolis Colts The Chiefs have a monster running game and the Colts have... yeah... I would imagine Larry Johnson would run over all of the Colts' defenders and control the clock. The Colts have the BIG 3!!! Peyton, Marvin, and Reggie. I doubt Patrick Surtain and Ty Law can cover them. So... what about Dallas Clark? It just adds more into Indy's favor. Next, #5 New York Jets at #4 New England Patriots MANGINI VS BELICHICK ROUND 3 The Jets are about in the 20s in rushing offense and the Patriots might make them ditch the running game. So when they go to the passing game, the Jets have good recievers to throw to. Cotchery, McCareins (spelling?), and Coles. The only weakness I can come up with the Patriots is Brady's go-to-guy. I'd expect Reche Caldwell to be the man but I don't know whether or not Ben Watson might come back from injury. But knowing Brady, he might make that a non factor. Oh yeah, the Patriots might have to watch punt/kick returner Justin Miller. With the teams on bye... #2 Baltimore Ravens Though they don't have the most "explosive" offense in the league, they are playing old fashioned football and it's working. But the running game could be better. Jamal Lewis is averaging less than 4 yards a carry and hasn't had much problems in the end zone. But the Ravens have problems getting into the end zone. Pass protection hasn't been a question but recently, they discovered the long ball. Mark Clayton was close to getting his first 1000 yard recieving season but the Bills played Cover 2 and prevented it. Derrick Mason has been complaining and hasn't been getting the ball his way since he is covered by the #1 cornerbacks and McNair spreading the ball to players like Demetrius Williams, Todd Heap, and Ovie Mughelli. Defensively, the cornerbacks have played well but still bite on the double moves. Samari Rolle let a pass go to Lee Evans by jumping the route which led to a touchdown. Later, McAlister jumped the route and resulted in an interception for 6 points. Rolle redeemed himself and intercepted another pass in the end zone to seal the game. So the results are sometimes good and sometimes bad. Now with the "most complete" team, #1 San Diego Chargers The major weakness in this team is the head coach. Marty is 5-12 in the postseason and he can revert back to Martyball at anytime. Philip Rivers is a first year starter and everyone knows how a playoff team can only advance if the quarterback leads them. Lately, he has played sub par against the Chiefs, Seahawks, and so-so against the Cardinals. They weren't playing like the Ravens or Bears defense does. The secondary has a weakness as well. Anquan Boldin showed me that they weren't able to tackle large recievers who were physical. I would do the NFC, but... not now.
I think the Chiefs/Colts game will be the game of the week. It will be fun watching Manning getting knocked out of the playoffs and crying in the first round again this year. Jets/Patriots should be pretty awesome as well. Man I love Playoff Football!
just a reminder the Jets beat the Patriots in Foxboro Week 10. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...hael&id=2715902 thats a good article about the Jets going into Foxboro this weekend. Heres a interesting good quote about the Jets. "The Jets' defense yielded the fewest points (102) in the league over the final eight games. During the regular season, New York's D allowed the fewest plays of 20 yards or longer (17)." Those are some pretty interesting numbers when you think about teams going into the playoffs with momentum. The Jets v Patriots game is IMO the best game of the week. And it'll be so satifying to knock off the Patriots in the 1st round. Especially the way Belichick is acting towards Mangini, what a sore loser jackass. Mangini tried to give him a hug and a handshake after the Jets beat the Pats and Belichick barely looked at him. I cant wait for this week. Btw Pennington has proved that he can win the games with not a great running game, the Jets playaction attack and west coast offense will keep the offense balanced and the Patriots defense offbalanced. Its going to be a close game i think it'll come down to the 4th quarter
I pretty think the Colts season comes to an end. I like the Chiefs and I think LJ could put up some record breaking numbers. This was the one team the Colts did not want to see in round 1.
