What players on your team are you thankful for, or has greatly suprised you coming into this year?

For me and my Bucks, Brandon Saine has really suprised me. I had heard he was supposed to be fast and all that, but I didn't know what the team was getting when he signed. He pinballs his way off of opponents with strength and speed. He is averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Granted, he hasn't played the toughest defenses, hasn't played a great deal due to a recent injury, and has a great offensive line- but a freshman performing like this right off the bat is still impressive and encouraging enough. Add to him the two Wells and we have ourselves a nice trio of backs. Maurice won't power through anybody, but he is quick. Everyone knows Chris, a 6'2" back that can play either the power or speed game and has a stiff arm that will knock you senseless.

Then of course everyone knows about Brian Robiskie. Who has stepped up his game in place of Gonzo and Ginn. Hartline and Small are two great recievers as well. The Buckeyes have six players total that average over 10 yards per catch (of which include Hartline 11.8, Small 14.2, and Robiskie 19.2) and just like with the defense of last season, when a whole bunch of players were lost thanks to the draft and graduation- Tressell pulled through with another great team on offense.

Even though the Buckeyes offense hasn't been really tested yet, the performance is still very encouraging.

Some players I've been impressed with:

Pete Tverdov, even though he's essentially only played one game due to injury. Always high energy, and hopefully he'll take some pressure off of Eric Foster in the future, because all team's are doing is doubling up on the All-American.

Jean Beljour - Man can he open up some holes for Ray. Corcoran was having trouble getting to the second level, but Beljour was hitting the LB's consistently. It showed in the last quarter against Cincy, when Beljour entered the game. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some more time against Cuse next week.

Ben Mauk, Marshawn Gilyard and Marcus Barnett have been huge for UC's offense and all are new. Mauk has made an impact not only when he has played, but has helped make his backup, last year's starter Dustin Grutza a better QB. Gilyard was a CB his freshman season and then was out last season for academics while Barnett is a redshirt freshman.

Kevin Huber the punter has also been a huge surprise. He is leading the nation in putting average and has been pinning the opposition deep.

Stevie Johnson for Kentucky has been CLUTCH at receiver! He's had two game-winning catches against Louisville and LSU...
