PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Zach Randolph had some room tomaneuver for the New York Knicks on Monday night.

With Eddy Curry sidelined, Randolph scored 17 points and QuentinRichardson added 11 as the New York Knicks opened theirpreseason slate with a 101-92 victory over the Philadelphia76ers.

David Lee collected 18 points and six rebounds for the Knicks, who were playing their first game since an embarrassingly publicsexual harrassment trial against ownership and coach IsiahThomas.

A legitimate low-post scorer, Randolph was acquired from thePortland Trail Blazers in a draft-night trade for veteran guardSteve Francis and forward Channing Frye. The Knicks alsoreceived guards Fred Jones and Dan Dickau, who was subsequentlybought out of his contract.

But some questioned the 6-9 Randolph's role in the offensealongside the 6-11 Curry, who spends most of his time playingwith his back to the basket. However, Curry did not play onMonday with a tear in his right shoulder.

Randolph took advantage, shooting 7-of-10 from the field in just25 minutes in his first game with the Knicks, who shot 44percent (32-of-73) from the field.

Andre Miller scored 17 points and rookie Thaddeus Young added 16for the 76ers, who shot just 38 percent (30-of-78) from thefloor.
