    Steve Francis still has the hops.</p>

    I think that the five minute sample we saw of him shouldn't be enough to judge how he'll fit into this offense right now. For someone whose teams have always played isolation basketball and not as much of a read-and-react style, it was expected Stevie would struggle. Once he gets it though, I think he'll be a big asset.</p>

    Adelman has said he'll play those who didn't play much this time next game, so expect Francis and Brooks to get the bulk of the minutes.</p>

    I wouldn't read too much into this game. Obviously in a real game, T-Mac and Yao would have played the second half. But it was a good chance for Adelman to see who of the "potential cuts" know the system best, and will probably make cuts appropriately. Bonzi's gonna see a lot of minutes this year, at least at the start of the year - he seems to know what to do and where to go in the offense.</p>

    a lot of turnovers, but it's the preseason and it's a new system so I'll forgive them for that...but things I noticed</p>

    </p>

    A. Scola can play defense....he got his hands on so many loose balls and he's supposed to be a good offensive rebounder.</p>

    B. Francis looked lost................he still showed that he had some hops, but I don't know how Adleman plans to fit him in</p>

    C. THANK YOU for using Yao's passing ability....Rudy T was never the greatest X's and O's guy, but one thing I liked is that he did allow Yao to use his amazing passing abilities.....giving the ball to Yao out high and off a picks makes it a lot easier for everyone to get him the ball</p>

    D. Bonzi is back in shape and I think he's going to have a really good season....last year he looked so out of sync, but you could tell he had an extra pep in his step last night</p>

    E. Where was Aaron Brooks?????...I hope he gets some P.T. tomorrow night at the Toy Center.</p>

    agree with everything, but yeah like Bullard said I think it might take a while before Scola gets used to NBA rules...one of the rowdies told me his english wasn't very good so it might take a while for others to explain it, but he seems like a pretty smart player so he'll probably catch on....and from the looks of it he's not a good shooter, but appears to have some sort of post game down low....hopefully they run some plays for him down there.</p>

    He may not be a great shooter, but he hit a banker from 18 feet out in the second half. In the Vegas games, he looked pretty comfortable shooting that 10-15 footer.</p>

    ^^^yeah I thought they said he was a good shooter, but then Bullard said last night that he needs to work on his midrange game and then I saw him clank a couple so I figured he might be right.........hopefully we see more of that bank.</p>

    I didn't have an opportunity to see the game but a big-thing that sticks out to me just from looking at the stats are turnovers: 27. I will write those off since it is the preseason and it is only the first game. I think its interesting to point out that there were a ttal of 48 turnovers in the game and neither team had any points off of turnovers. Kind of amusing to me.</p>

    I know durvasa made a point about fouls but I know looking at the box-score Harris, Scola and Hayes all had 5 fouls which isn't good. If anyone watched the game, were these fouls "cheap" calls or just us playing aggressive defense?</p>

    for Scola it seemed like aggressive defense for the most part, but he got a couple of fouls for setting moving screens....I think both are things that can be worked on and easily corrected.</p>

    Chuck got called for a bunch of fouls swiping at the ball. They say that "the hands are a part of the ball", but I never see it officiated that way.</p>

    ^^I've never gotten that either....sometimes they call you for hitting a guys hand when shooting and other times its the "hands are part of the ball" rule, lol....</p>

    What if you're driving? Players always get called for "reaching fouls" when they try to slap at the ball and hit the hand.</p>
