What a great set of games to watch this week. I'm still pumped up about last week's games, especially the NFC. Now the AFC might have better games to watch this upcoming week. Don't worry, the NFC will have some nice games to watch as well.

When you think about the games, it seems like most of them are rematches either from this year or the past, particularly last year.

    Let's start with the NFC...

#3 Philidelphia Eagles at #2 New Orleans Saints
The last time they met, McNabb was under center and ended up losing. Will it be the same with Jeff Garcia at QB for the Eagles?

#4 Seattle Seahawks at #1 Chicago Bears
So many different things this time around. Mainly Shaun Alexander will play for the Seahawks and the Bears will be without Tommy Harris as they did before in the season. But the biggest question mark is, which Rex Grossman will show up this time? He did have a great game last time they met but Rex seemed to have went downhill from there basically.

    Now... The AFC...

#4 New England Patriots at #1 San Diego Chargers
The Chargers may be the "most complete" team in the league but they simply don't have Tom Brady or Bill Belichick. The last time they played, last season, the Chargers beat them at Foxboro. But now, the Patriots are back with a running game and could it come at a worse time? Playoffs?

    Last but not least...

#3 Indianapolis Colts at #2 Baltimore Ravens
Most of the news is that the fans at Baltimore don't want to see the horseshoe on any other team not from Baltimore back in the days. I'm too young to know much but I know someone don that #19 jersey. Now Manning & Co. come back to Baltimore hoping to do what they did last year in the season opener, win. But that won't be easy because there is a new arrival on the Ravens offense, #9.

For the Colts, the defense showed up against the Chiefs but most of it had to do with the fact that the Chiefs ditched the run pretty quickly and dropped passes. But they did force the Chiefs to go without a first round in the first half. Quite impressive. The offense was there too, just not the type of game Manning would have liked though. The running game went well for the Colts which seemed to hinder the 3 interceptions Manning threw.

But don't take the Ravens so lightly. They feed on chasing QB's. Rex Ryan may have been anticipating this game for weeks now and knowing he's the evil genius behind the defense, I know he has something cooked up for the game on Saturday. Look for the Ravens to keep Manning off his feet and force him to throw interceptions. It may be harder since we don't have Ty Law on our team.

For the Ravens, offense will be the main concern. We know this may be a low scoring game. So the main objective for the offense is to at least score 20 or more points, but the defense and special teams will help as they try to get good field position. The Colts are last in special teams coverage and this might be Cory Ross' time to show what he's got in kick/punt returns since B.J Sams is on IR. Expect Jamal Lewis, who's been averaging 22 carries a game since Billick took over play calling, to pound the ball up the middle against the undersized Colt's front 7. And when the Ravens get predictable, they might throw in some play actions and/or maybe take advantage of who's covering Todd Heap in the middle.

The key matchup: Todd Heap vs Colts linebackers/safeties

    AND FOR MY PICKS...

    New Orleans/Philidelphia : New Orleans
    Seattle/Chicago : Seattle
    New England/San Diego: No Pick
    Indianapolis/Baltimore : Baltimore

For the Patriots/Chargers game, I chose not to choose anyone. Why? My heart wants to pick the Chargers so we can have a rematch for SUPER BRAGGING RIGHTS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE YEAR UNTIL THEY PLAY AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!! But every other part of my body is saying Patriots since they have a better QB and head coach. And I might be afraid of the Ravens playing the Patriots since they are a dangerous team in the playoffs. But whoever they play with, it will be a good game.

The Pats may surprise you guys this weekend. I'm not saying it will happen again but SD lost after their bye week so maybe they will be rusty again. Maybe the steroids along with sitting on the couch will negatively affect Merriman.

Of the lower seeds, The Pats & Seattle have the best chance to win.

If Schottenheimer reverts to Marty ball then the Pats will win. Bill B will have a plan to confuse Rivers but can they shutdown LT?

As much as I like Indy, They are done. If Peyton has a monster game & the Ravens D has a meltdown, the Colts may have a chance.

I was leaning on picking the Patriots but I want the Chargers to play the Ravens badly. I'm even in the progress of getting the tickets to the game if they do. But most of me knows the Patriots will win. That is why I went with no pick if no one read it above.

BTW, I would rather face the Chargers than Patriots because I'm afraid of the Brady-Belichick combo. And also, the Chargers are getting an upset I believe. They are getting too much hype and I dislike Shawne Merriman.

If it did not affect him when he returned then I doubt it does now.

If anything the 'roids will just make him angrier. Merriman may get most of the press but Edwards, Godfrey, Castillo, & Jamaal Williams and the other DE (Cesaire something (??)) that make this D so special

I just saw Boomer Esaison on Quite Frankly. He had an intelligent take... 1st time for everything.

If LT rushes the ball 30 times then Marty gets criticized for returning to Marty ball. On the other hand, should Rivers throws 35 times then MS gets ripped not using LT enough.

    Thoughts?
