I heard Bates to Denver is a done deal. i don't know how is interview w/ Wayne H. JB's get the phins gig was a longshot IMO, but, I could ahve lived with it.

Shanahan blaming Coyer (former DC) for the Broncos slide is crap. Pulling Jake P was the reason. Denver lost to Seattle (Jay C's first start) which was the reason IMO the donkeys missed the post season.

Parcells was pursuing him hard to be his new defensive coordinator too. He probably would've been the head coach designate too.

The Promoted the DB coach to Defensive Cordinator and Bates to Assistant Head Coach of the Defense.

That Broncos D is going to be good next year, because Bates transformed a bad packers Defense into a very overachieving defense that the pass defense ranked #1 i think that year he was there.

They have two big needs on defense, 1. CB to replace Darrent Williams(RIP) 2. Pass rushing DE like Gaines Adams, or Quetin Moses or Anderson from Bama.

It pains me, but, I agree.

Champ Bailey should thrive and John Lynch moves back "into the box". Denver's LB corps is phenomenal and will benefit from Bates' scheme.

It would not surprise me to see the donkeys make a run @ Dwight Freeney who is a UFA.

There nUmber 1 Pass Defense was a skewed stat as they were down in a lot of games allowing teams to run at them all day, this is not say the Defense wasn't a top 10 unit last year because it was, they improved vastly under bates and then dropped off again this year until the last 4 or so games under BAte's protege Sanders.

A little bit off-topic, but Quentin Moses should not be mentioned in the same league as Adams and Anderson. He doesn't compare to either of them. Moses is dropping fast in draft status and is a borderline 1st round pick now.

Also, the Broncos will have a bigger need at DT where I believe they have a couple of their rotation guys hitting free agency. A replacement for the 35 year old Lynch will be a priority too.
