Joakim Noah looks really good. He had a nice drive from the top of the key where he got fouled.

Big Ben looks very good. Much better than last year. Even though Dallas is doing good with Howard/Dirk in attacking the Bulls in the paint, or interior defense is clearly very good, compared to that crap show Wallace and Brown put on display last year.

    Re: NBA: DALLAS at CHICAGO

Aaron Gray had 8 points and 5 rebounds in the first half. Its amazing that Gray didn't get picked in the first round. Aaron Gray is clearly a lottery talent....obviously a lot of it has to do with the conditioning he did since coming to Chicago, but he is just a very, very good ball player. I think he might be better than Joakim Noah.

People can just shutup now about the Bulls not having a post up presence. They have one now in Aaron Gray. We posted up Aaron Gray time after time. He only had one turnover in all that time. He has good offensive awareness, and avoids getting it stolen, or losing the ball like Eddy Curry did when he was here. Gray can back down his man pretty well. He also runs the floor very well for someone his size. Yao Ming, Shaq, Mutumbo, Duncan, none of them can keep up with him. He gets down there fast, and when the other big man is still at midcourt, while Gray is in the paint, with position on a smaller player, that is only going to help us in our transition game.

Gray is just a downright great rebounder. He has the body and size to not get pushed around at all. He just keeps his position. He has very good hops (32" vertical at combine, likely increased that since coming to Chicago), so he goes up and gets the ball well as good.

Very pleased with what Aaron Gray has given us so far.

Joakim Noah has looked good a bit. Nothing special, but good role player qualities. He had a nice drive where he got fouled, and then another fastbreak in which he got fouled. He hits the freethrows good. He is a pretty good on ball defender on players like Dirk. His rebounding has been sub par though so far. His hands are very stonelike...needs to do a better job at catching the ball. Very reminiscent of Chandler when watching Noah try to catch the ball...possibly worse.

Tyrus Thomas has been downright amazing so far....maybe the best player on the court. His defense is glue like (3 steals 1 block), and he caused more turnovers in which other players got the credit for. He has been boxing out and skying for rebounds very well. On offense, he had a nice slicing move around the basket. He hit a midrange jumpshot. He had another midrange jumpshot that missed, but looked good formwise, almost went in with the shooters touch.

No Ben Gordon or Joe Smith though....but getting Smith acquainted with the team doesn't see mlike too big of a deal, since I doubt he'll find too many minutes with Noah, Thomas, Gray, Wallace, and Nocioni up there.

    Re: NBA: DALLAS at CHICAGO

In the 3rd quarter, we are primarily running the offense through Tyrus Thomas in the high post. This is one of the things I thought we'd be working on this season, and utilizing it a bit....but not to this extent. It looks really good. Tyrus hit one of his two jumpshots this quarter, had a nice dunk. Kirk is really struggling right now without Gordon, but you have to imagine with Gordon in for Gardner, this high post offense with Tyrus will work way better.
