<h3>Penguins look to jump-start struggling offense</h3>

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Of all the things that the PittsburghPenguins thought they may be concerned about this season, thelast worry had to be scoring goals.


The Penguins will aim to recapture their scoring prowess as theyhead to the Air Canada Centre to take on the Toronto MapleLeafs on Saturday.


Pittsburgh's high-powered offense, which finished tied for thirdin the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche with 267 goals lastseason, has yet to hit its stride in the first three games,totaling eight goals while converting just three of its 16power-play opportunities.


Reflective of the team's offensive struggles is center SidneyCrosby, the reigning Art Ross and Hart Trophy Award winner whohas been limited to two assists so far. Center Jordan Staal isoff to an even slower start after finding the back of the net 29times last season. He has no points in three games.

Scoring has been less of a problem for the Maple Leafs lately,as they have notched at least two goals in every period in an8-1 rout of the New York Islanders on Thursday. In that game,center Mats Sundin broke franchise records with his 390th careergoal and 917th point, surpassing Hall of Famer Darryl Sittlerin both categories.


Center Matt Stajan added a goal and three assists for Torontoagainst New York and, combined with Sundin, the duo hasaccounted for 14 of the team's 49 points so far.
