I think he posts too many on the internet, and the front office doesn't like about this.

No. The fact is that he wasnt very good and he faced tough competition.

YES Network would have loved talking about his blogs though. [IMG]

unfortuantly, I think Benson was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. There are so many bigs and people fighting for that spot to chose from, that he just didn't get in there. Now, if it just so happened to be last season, with Boone out during camp and the beginning of the season..who knows.
though, the blogs would have given the Nets good publicity, IMO.

He just seemed overwhelmed and out of place at the televised practice. . . . don't know if you noticed, but he wasn't even in the team huddles . . . he was kind of standing outside the group and sticking his arm in. He needs to keep playing and not give up.

--but on another note, some people like Net Income like to point out how the Nets don't seem to draft and end up with players like Monta Ellis and Louis Williams and Amir Johnson. The point is, the Nets don't like to make room for some youngster who isn't ready, and pay for them to develop . . . Rod could have been in that camp. Rod could eaisly have been a second-round pick last year, like those other guys, but the nets prefer to hand out one-year minimum contracts to veterans than to hold on to not-quite-ready youngsters for two or three years. Ilic is the exception, but they were forced into carrying him, if I remember correctly.

--the third thing is, you notice how they waited until AFTER his birthday, and AFTER he had a chance to play in a game, before releasing him? Also, Frank went out of his way to give him some recognition a day or two before (see his blog). Classy.

Well Nets are built to win now....true so were the Pistons. Yea, well we did try with Nenad, then Illic, 50%. Agree Thorn just doesn't like drafting high risk players, Johnson, Williams and Ellis were all that as they were HSchoolers. But it'd be nice to grab one of those guys sit him down and gradually bring him a long, then become a star with the team.

Geez, if this guy came in, got on the court and scored 30 points, grabbed 15 boards, block 5 shoots EACH preseason game, he would not have been cut. He will have less time posting on the internet once he makes the club, unfortunately the numbers don't add up. Our roster is packed, especially with Allen fitting our starting lineup like aglove. The numbers were against him, he knew it, and the Nets actually did him a favor to see if his agent can find him another gig somewhere.

If anything, that'd help, making him more popular.
