It was a tough decision to who was the best in the end but the staff and public made their choice very clear. Here is the top 10 as it stands-</p> 1. Alessandro Nesta</p> 2. John Terry</p> 3. Fabio Cannavaro</p> 4. Rio Ferdinand</p> 5. Jamie Carragher</p> 6. Nemanja Vidic</p> 7. Carles Puyol</p> 8. Roberto Ayala</p> 9. Ricardo Carvahlo </p> 10. Sergio Ramos</p> </p> I have to say, this makes total sense to me. This is a well and truly good list of the best centre-backs and they got it spot on. IMO the next ones would be</p> 11. That list is spot on, although they have missed decent players like; Gabriel Milito, Thuram, Marchena, Lucio+ Materazzi. Cant think of much more.</p>
Well he deserves a spot in there surely. He has been Arsenal's rock over the years and is easily better then Carvahlo</p>

Don't think Terry should be top two ffs. Vidic is better than Rio and Carragher also. He is such a consistent performer, unlike Carragher and clumsy Rio who is still a great defender.</p>
