Well that was a huge downer.

Did not see the game or listen to it, just got home and decided to check out the box score and talk about horrible. 4-20 from 3 pt? Yikes.

The W's lost from the opening tip and the only key ones who did not player were Beans and Monta. POB got the start and he got 5 fouls in 8 mins of playing time I think (at least there were 5 rebounds.) Nobody shot it well.

    Its just preseason.

I was at the game (and had some spiffy courtside club seats to boot [IMG] ). It was a very blah game...they simply didn't come out with the energy we've come to expect. Nobody was making their outside shots, the defense wasn't forcing turnovers, and nobody could finish at the rim.

On the positive side, O'Bryant showed good effort again and Harrington (who couldn't finish at the rim to save his life) showed tremendous energy sprinting up and down the court. Wright showed some nice flashes but he is sooooooo skinny! I'm 8 inches shorter than the guy and I outweigh him by a couple pounds. Seriously, the kid is a stick figure.

Sweet seats and thanks for the eyewitness report. Nice to hear that POB had another positive step.

Another Brandon Wright is too skinny report. I've heard several analysts and people who have seen BW play say this. Then they usually say he's destined for the D-League this season to put on a few pounds.

Do you think he's ready for the NBA this season? Probably not. It's no use putting him out there to get hurt.

I think games like these will happen, especially if we can't win the rebounding game... and we're shooting crappy. It's hard enough not being able to put up more shots on goal than the other team if we can't rebound our own misses. We gotta do the second chance points thing if we're not nailing shots the first time around or nailing anything in transition.

What's up with Marco? Hopefully he pulls off a Matt Barnes, where he doesn't do that great in the preseason, but somehow gets something out of nowhere when he gets the opportunity in the regular season.

But yeah, it didn't look like a good game. At least the free throw shooting looks awesome.

Nice to see 9 boards out of AH though. It's going to be a long year if we're getting 1-2 boards a night out of our starting PF, I hope he can keep it up.

I think what happened is going to be the result when the W's play bad. They are a fast breaking, jump shooting team and when the shots don't fall, they are in trouble, especially since they get out rebounded.

I have a hard time figuring out why Maggette gets to the line so much, just play off him and dare him to hit a jumper or get up tight and don't give him any room to put it on the floor. If you play in between you will get toasted because he's quick and can get the bail out call. I find it hard to believe that someone constantly fouls somebody when he's only made 3 shots in the whole game and he ends up with 20.

One could have wondered what would happen if Pietrus + Barnes alternated on Maggette...

I also sure hope our rebounding woes don't force us to play Pat Burke more. The guy is your 12th man for free throw situations. The guy sort of gets steam rolled like Murphy because of the whole foot speed and lack of shotblocking.

I've been generally assuming he's not going to make the roster....

Yeah, maybe none of those guys are. Tierre Brown probably won't make it either.

Tierre got alot of time in tonight's game against Zalgiris Kaunas (at least in the first half, we split at halftime). He definitely showed some skills, but he wasn't taking great care of the ball. Just like Burke, it's hard to see him making the team.
