Oct 16 - Adidas spent $550,000 to build a temporary basketball court to coincide with Wednesday's exhibition game between the Orlando Magic and the Cleveland Cavaliers in Shanghai, China. The basketball court sits on a platform above Taiping Lake in Xintiandi, Shanghai's dining and night-life area, and adidas is using the event to showcase Dwight Howard, its rising star, to Chinese audiences.

The court, called NBA China Games Fan Center, was inaugurated by former NBA stars George Gervin, Rick Barry, Darryl Dawkins and Rick Barry on Monday. Howard was to make an appearance later in the day, while Cleveland's LeBron James will appear today. After Yao Ming and Allen Iverson, James is the most famous NBA star in China, according to an adidas spokesman, while Yao teammate Tracy McGrady is also popular. -- Orlando Sentinel

I'm glad to see that people are starting to try to market Dwight. He has the potential to be the best big man in the game and with his good boy personality, he is the perfect role model.
