http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?p...Roundtable-Kobe
Just another ESPN article on Kobe, if/when/to where he'll get traded and all of the usual stuff that has been said about him lately. The usual teams--Chicago, Dallas, New York, Phoenix--were all mentioned, but thrown in there Chis Sherridan says:

QUOTE

My long-shot team is New Jersey, for a package starting with Vince Carter, although that can not happen until after Dec. 15, when players (like Carter) who signed over the summer become trade-eligible.

I know there isn't reallyanything behind that other then pure speculation, but with that being said...would you make a deal for him, and if so, what would you offer?

Carter, Nachbar along with a first round pick.
Not really worth getting Kobe if we include half our roster.

Carter, Bernard, Mile for Kobe
contracts wouldn't work, and Lakers would turn it down in a milisecond, but i feel like gettin rid of those 2

God bless Chris Sheridan for creating an association between Vince's name and Kobe's.
Thorn should send him a letter attached to a basket of food.

Can't imagine LA being so desperate to get rid of Kobe they would take Vince as the major piece in return. They'd want a star, a young player with potential, a big expiring contract and picks at minimum as well as try and dump one of their bad contracts in the process. This is Kupchak remember, he's a stingy moron.
IMO, moving Kobe would move would only happen if the deal gives them them the room/pieces to acquire someone like an Arenas or another big name signing to keep fans from revolting at the rebuilding process.
Hypothetically if we did make an offer surrounding VC we'd have to add Boki, Boone, and 2 first rounders to make it worth their consideration. Any move will mean gutting our squad but Kobe in the East is a interesting enough to atleast see what they're asking for.

I'd be down wit that, in a second. Rod should try to bargain with Kupchak.
The same guy who gave Shaq away for Odom, Butler, and Grant...and then traded Butler for Kwame....sounds like the exact type of guy Rod would be able to screw over.

if we some how could land kobe with a package surrounding vince carter it would be great. vince is the more likeable guy and more clean cut image wise, but kobe is just the best perimeter player in the league by far imo (lebron is close, gotta see how wade comes back from surgery). i dont see any way that LA would trade kobe to the nets unless kobe said i want NJ as one of my choices to play w/kidd. we do not have any young stars to give like a deng, but if the lakers want to keep selling seats then they got a ticket seller in vince. thats about the only positive thing vince would bring to LA, some star power. what else? well really only nenad, marcus, sean could be seen as future difference makers but they already have odom, brown and bynum so i guess krstic is outta the picture, but come dec15 if thorn can land kobe for vince + change i am all for it. it wont happen, just like kg, but i would be for it. the problem is that kobe is owed a lot of money, plus im sure there are plenty of people who hate his game but i think he would become a more all around player when playing next to kidd every night. but kobe coming here is a pipedream. i do enjoy pipedreams though

The guy is probably so worried about making another dumb move he's never gonna be able to pull the trigger unless Buss makes him. I think Boki, Boone, VC and picks is a starting point, then they'll add a terrible contract like Radman's and we'll be in a tough position to add more to the package without gutting our core and future.

If they wanna try to give us Radman, I'm just not sure how a trade between the Lakers and Nets would really work.
