Bill Douglas of the CSAC is currently organizing a meeting of wrestling promoters in the Southern California area to discuss "where we have been, where we are now, and where we are going with this." He said right now professional wrestling in CA was unregulated and would continue to be so, but they were keeping an eye on Congressional hearings and that if regulation in the state actually happens, "look forward to California testing wrestlers across the board the way we do for boxing, kickboxing, and MMA which means testing for anabolic agents, masking agents, diuretics, and drugs of abuse". Reports say they're going to take 5% of all event gates or $500 upfront, effective immediately. - Before her WWE release, there were plans to give Krissy Vaine a huge push on SmackDown with a lot of TV time. Michael Hayes was especially high on Vaine and felt she was above most of the Divas on the roster. There were no plans to send her boyfriend Ryan O'Reilly to RAW or anywhere else, they just booked him on some RAW shows to get him back on the radar. Vince McMahon was reportedly high on O'Reilly. - As previously posted, WWE developmental wrestler Cassidy James broke his arm in a match with The Major Brothers recently. James will be out for six weeks and is currently in a cast.
Wrestilng Being Taxed
More on Hart, Future of Hart Foundation, Releases, More
- Teddy Hart's release came amidst heat with other wrestlers in Florida Championship Wrestling and a run-in with WWE officials. Sources say that Hart had improved his attitude outside of the ring, but it was a different story inside the ring. Hart would have to get his spots over in the matches, and would go out and do the opposite of what officials told him to do in the match. Management has still been in touch with Nattie Neidhart and Harry Smith, so there's still some plan for them. No other details are available on the future of The New Hart Foundation. There was an idea going around to have Harry Smith debut in England accepting an open challenge and winning, similar to what Santino Marella did. However that didn't happen but Smith did work a few dark matches. - It appears WWE released OVW trainer Robert Gibson due to the whole CM Punk/Tony Atlas situation that we reported on last week. After the incident, there was heat on Atlas from the wrestlers for acting the way he did, heat on Punk for having a confrontation with a WWE Hall of Famer and heat on the OVW trainers for allowing the whole thing to happen. Officials were extremely upset at Danny Davis until he explained he was in another room editing TV at the time. Then the heat got passed onto Al Snow and Gibson with Gibson ultimately getting fired.
More On Hart
Booker T And Sharmell Update: Headed To TNA? More News
- WWE's announcement of Booker and Sharmell's releases as of October 27th could be the company's way of sending a message to insiders saying Booker had been suspended for 60 days on August 27th and that the two were fired instead of walking out. The announcement came just two days after Booker removed the WWE logo and media request from his official website. TNA does have interest in bringing Booker and Sharmell in. He will be free to work after next week, so there is a possibility that he could appear at TNA's Genesis PPV if the two sides could work something out. The two did say in an official statement on their website that they weren't done with wrestling and to look for them soon.
Booker T And Sharmell Update
Save.Us.222 Updates, Vince’s ‘Death’, O'Shaunessy, More
I have a friend who writes for UGO.com and I also get a RSS news feed for recent posts. This could mean some form of WWE 24/7, there has been previous talk of WWE doing something when their contract expires with Sky in 2009-2010. Sky Box Office are also offering 3 WWE pay-per-views for the price of 2, this could also be to see if enough people will buy it, with a pay-channel in the talks. I was at the Birmingham Monday Night Raw taping and thought I'd mention that fans were not only told to take their belts and signs off before they entered, but WWE actually gave out signs and planted their own. I saw a WWE guy carrying them and asking if they'd hold it up in the normal positions for WWE cameras and promised them they would be on TV as a way of thanking them because the guy below me got told it.
