GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Reserve Jason Maxiell scored25 points and hauled in 12 rebounds as the Detroit Pistonsposted a 119-110 preseason victory over the Denver Nuggets onWednesday. Ronald Murray scored 19 points and rookie Arron Afflalo added 14off the bench for Detroit, which played without backcourt starsChauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton. The Pistons also won this game without significant contributionsfrom the starting front line of Rasheed Wallace, AntonioMcDyess and Tayshaun Prince, who all played in the first quarterbefore joining coach Flip Saunders on the bench for the rest ofthe game. Maxiell, who entered the contest late in the opening period,<div class="pre">shot 11-of-15 from the field and helped around the paint,</div>corralling six offensive boards for Detroit, which outreboundedDenver, 55-37.
