<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre will return for the 2007 season, he told the Sun Herald in an exclusive interview this morning.

"I am so excited about coming back," he said. "We have a good nucleus of young players. We were 8-8 last year and that's encouraging.

"My offensive line looks good, the defense played good down the stretch. I'm excited about playing for a talented young football team."

Favre, the former Hancock North Central and Southern Miss star, told the team about his return this morning. He said he'd made the decision after consulting with his family at home in Hattiesburg and that he knew he wanted to come back in the locker room after the season finale against the Chicago Bears.</div>
    Well I'm glad he's back.

    1. Favre >>> Rodgers

    2. Free Agents might want to come here because of Favre

    3. Maybe he can pull a deal and get us in the playoffs

ESPN NEWS has confirmed it as well but not ESPN.com

Mooch just spoke to Brett via cell phone live on the NFL Network and confirmed that he is coming back. Mooch said that Brett was watching when Mooch pulled out his cell and called him. Too funny.

Good chance he breaks ever record this year. Should pass Marino in Touchdowns and Passing Attempts. Yards is within reach as well. INT's should be his as well, thought that's not a good thing. He'll break everything.

I think you need to stop looking at age and look at his physical condition. He's not declining, at most you could say he's become somewhat less mobile. He can still throw the ball well. The Packers finished 8-8 last year (ending with a 4 game win streak), one more win and they'd of been in the playoffs. So how, with that momentum, can you say, "you should just hang 'em up"? The Packers have a very legitimate shot at the playoffs next year, and every one knows, once your in the playoffs it's anybody's ball game.

but hes a backup man... hes not there to lead the team.. sure he did good but only cause he fits good, really good in philadelphias scheme. But farve is too old come on now lets be serious the guys carrear is over i really dont see him doing much else. And yes good steady qbs are hard to come by but they could of picked up some youngins that farve could of mentored. Im sorry he just needs to give it up.

Ever hear of Aaron Rodgers? our first rounder whose been mentored the last two and now three years? How is his career over? He had a decent year, with the youngest team in the NFL, only way to go from here is up. He's still better than many of the other starting QB's in the league.

This makes no sense. Was John Elway's career over too? I'm not comparing those teams but GB could really make a playoff run. They nearly made the playoffs this year.

    The Giants lost Tiki Barber.
    The Cowboys lost Bill Parcells.

How can those teams get any better? Those were two of the playoff teams. The Packers have 30 million dollars to spend. Why not keep playing and break the records and possibly end your career in the playoffs. Who is going to be better for the Packers? Aaron Rodger isn?t. He has looked awful in practices and preseason. The free agent market is weak. Favre coming back can and will only help the Packers.

Outside of Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, and Ahman Green can you name another offensive contributor Favre had to throw too? Yet he still threw 3800 yards and 18 touchdowns. By no means he's an elite QB but he did pretty good for a team most thought would win 3 or 4 games this year. There isn't a QB in the league not named Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, or Carson Palmer that could of done better with this team.
