Blinded by cheese clolored glasses. not able to see farve for the cheater he is. Not to exclude strahan, he is vile cheater too. Both should be banned from football. I attack farve more than i do strahan, but if the giants fans made the same love fest for strahan the cheater, i would denounce him the same.
Oh i can see it building up inside, your utter jealousy over how bad he's torched you for the last decade and a half, It tears you apart doesn't it? Why has Chicago had about 50 QB's in that span while greenbay has had 1 who continually abuses you season in and season out. The truth hurts doesn't it (waits for some lame excuse about dissing the bears QBs, not proving against Favre's cheating blah blah blah, same old stuff)

In fact, the Packers are my favorite NFC team. However, I have to call them like I see them. Favre and Strahan look like buddies to me. A naked boot with a 9 point lead and less than 3 minutes to go seems really too stupid to not be suspicious to me. As much as I like Favre, there are two things that I really wish he hadn't done. I wish he had kept his mouth shut about Javon Walker's contract and I wish he hadn't laid down for Strahan.

Second, Favre may have outran Strahan earlier in the game, but it's a little different when you actually get a chance to see him coming, when you look up, and he's in your face, it's a little tougher, and much easier to slide. As has been brought up previously, it's not like they were in much danger of losing the game, so why not slide instead of trying to throw it away? If he throws it away he stops the clock (stupid) and risks getting injured, as he'd be likely to get hit.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (vikingfan)</div><div class='quotemain'>FWIW, anyone who was watching that game has to question whether or not Favre 'gave' away the sack The whole game Favre was able to outrun Strahan and avoid him - except for on that last play when he ran at him then slid in front of him. For some reason I remember it well (certain members on this board don't let us forget). Does this mean that he's a cheater? I don't think so - if anything he helped Strahan cheat. I don't consider Strahan to be the single season sack record holder because of how that play went down in the context of the whole game. If you read the comments of players, most of them thought it was an odd play (including Strahan himself who said "I don't know why he didn't throw it" - obviously alluding to an earlier play when Favre threw the ball away). So Favre took a dive, Strahan shouldn't have gotten the sack record, and yet Favre is still a great QB. I don't see what the problem is?</div> Of course he took a dive, just like when any quarterback dives to avoid contact when they are about to get hit. Why did he not throw the ball out of bounds? Probably because he realized that he may still be in the pocket, and that would have been a penalty. On that play, he had just made his play-action counter move when Strahan was already right there bearing down on him. You guys can speculate all day long. We can sit here and argue that the glass was half full or half empty. The fact is that Strahan was averaging more than one sack per game. There is no reason to believe that Farve would simply give up the sack, after having tryed all day long to avoid one.

What did you win? Your winning seems analogous to winning the Special Olympics. There is more than a little bitterness flowing from your posts after what happened on Sunday. By the way, you have proven nothing in terms of what Farve did on that sack play.

BF1's dying breath will contain the words "Favre's a cheater." I've long since given up on trying to get him to drop it. I just laugh at it now... It's the eternally running joke of the NFL Forums.</div> Well how the hell do u have a debate with someone who anytime Favre comes up he discredits anything to do with him b/c he's a "cheater"? I mean wth? 1st Marino is discredited b/c he doesn't have a Super Bowl ring, so then I say well what about Bradshaw and Montana, then their 2nd 3rd and 4th Super Bowl rings are discredited b/c only the 1st one matter, then I show Favre's complete superiority to Manning in the post season and he's discredited for being a "cheater" it makes no f'ing sence...</div> BF1, this is why I have not furthered the "debate" on ur assertion that Peyton Manning is "the hands down the greatest quarterback ever". Not to mention it's a ridiculous argument to begin with...

I'm not sure if this falls under the definition of cheater, though. In the sports sense of the word, cheating usually involves breaking some rule. A broader definition does include 'trickery or deceit', so maybe Favre did cheat the fans out of what was otherwise an impressive season for Strahan. Do I really care? No. Favre is an impressive football player. I don't always like how he behaves himself, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I would have taken him on my team if I could have had him.

I like Favre, but I think that the years of cheesehead worship has made him a little arrogant. I could see him giving up a sack for his buddy when he has the game is in the bag. It's the same arrogance that makes him believe there's nothing wrong with his sticking his nose in a teammate's contract negotiations. I'm not saying he's total jerk, but I think his ego is a little bigger than it should be and he does some things that he shouldn't. He probably thinks it's no big deal.

Sure, the coach wouldn't take that risk, but Favre would. I find it funny that in one post I read about how Favre should of been able to elude him since he did it earlier in the game, and then the next post says, it makes no sence to run a bootleg with an aging QB. Favre isn't an average QB and probably would have been able to elude him and pick up some yards, had there not been a miscommunication and Franks would have blocked, or at least got in the way of, Strahan.
