<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DolfanDale)</div><div class='quotemain'>Here's a link to an AP article that appeared on NFL.com BEFORE THE GAME!!!

"We're going to do everything we can to keep him out, but I don't know if we're going to keep him away from the record," the Green Bay Packers quarterback said of his offseason golfing buddy.

"I might give it to him early. I don't want to say give it to him, ask him if he'll take the next three quarters off. Work out a little side deal."

You guys keep knocking BF1 but "work out a little side deal" are words that actually came out of Favre's mouth regarding the sack record and his offseason golfing buddy. From where I stand, any suspicion that Favre gets over the incident he earned.

    http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/GB/4786359</div>
Thanks! Now we can all agree Favre is a cheater and should be banned from football, America, and Earth. He should have his skin peeled from his body with a rusty implement..

I would go anywhere near that far, BF1, but I can certainly appreciate the zeal with which you run with the ball when handed one.

Making the alleagation that he cheated, I'm still in the same position that I was in earlier. It is on *you* to prove that he intentionally gave up that sack for Strahan. Joking about it does nothing to prove that he did it. Furthermore, if you take him at face value, he would have given the sack "early" in the game.

Anyone here can hold whatever position they want, I won't be losing sleep at night. As far as finding proof, that burden is on the NFL and they chose to stick their head in the sand because they are afraid of how this might affect the legend of Brett Favre. Personally, I think he could survive this mistake if it came out that he gave up the sack on purpose. I still like Favre. VF still respects him as a player. BF1 ... well, you can't win everyone over. Still, I do think there is enough evidence that should have warranted an investigation by the NFL. You have the statements made by FAvre before the game. You have his teammates not knowing that Favre was running a naked boot. I'm not buying that because if you call an audible at the line of scrimmage, his teammates should have know the naked boot was coming. You have far too many football announcers, like John Madden denouncing the incident for there not to warrant an investigation. If Favre isn't guilty, then there would have been nothing to worry about. So, believe it or don't believe it. I'm still going to call it like I see it even if it is a negative incident revolving a player that I really like.

"I don't like the way it happened. I'm like everyone else - I respect the hell out of Brett Favre and I respect the hell out of Michael Strahan. I was rooting for him to get it. But I don't respect the way he got it." - John Madden

I have way more important things to do than prove it. Plus, anyone with a 80 IQ who watched it knows what happened, less they were wearing packer glasses. I do have enough time to denounce him for doing it without proof, which i will continue to do.

If anything him joking about it beforehand is more evidence that he didn't do it. Anyone with an above 80 IQ would know that someone making an underhand deal would not be saying about it beforehand.

No. Joking about it could be the perfect cover. He wouldnt do it after he joked about it, right? See, anyone with a 90 IQ could see right through that BS argument.

You could reverse anything and say that someone would say/do something so they wouldn't be suspected. Like no one would call the cops to report a break in if they did it. But you could say that someone would to make it look like they didn't . But in reality, anyone with an above 90 IQ knows that you wouldn't do anything to draw attention to yourself, or the wrongful act you're going to commit. It'd be stupid, thing is Favre was just messing around, you can say he gave up the sack on purpose, but he didn't. If he was going to, and he planned it, then why wouldn't he do like he joked about doing, and give it up early so Strahan wasn't trying so hard to get it? And you can't say they planned it earlier and Strahan went easy, because he flushed Favre out of the pocket more then once during the game. Any way you twist it, it doesn't fit. He was just thinking of winning the game, and the only way to put the game away was to get a couple 1st downs, so he called a bootleg to catch them off guard.

Yeah, i am the one that is spinning things, LOL! You are pretty obsessed with defending farve's cheating ways. Dont worry, since he made deals with everyone in league office, no one investigated his cheating and you wont have to worry about him being caught. Even if he was he would just make more deals to get out of it.

I can not believe this thread continues to drag on. I am not here to beat a dead horse. Just to say; this topic has been so strung out that it'd make a team of government lawyers proud.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DolfanDale)</div><div class='quotemain'>Everybody keeps asking for a motive and I think the motive is the easy. Favre and Strahan are friends.</div>
Dale has broken it down nicely using Occam's razor.

At this point it is a fascinating study in stubbornness. Like I said - opinions won't change on this unless Favre were to come out and say that he gave the sack on purpose.
