Game aired on Comcast Sports Net

After completely embarrassing the Knicks on Wednesday with a 40-point victory, the Celtics resume their preseason campaign tonight at the DCU Center in Worcester against division rival New Jersey Nets. Unfortunately, Jason Kidd isn’t expected to play, canceling out a potential “Battle of the Big Three’s” headline, but that will come later in the season. Tonight, we continue to focus on building chemistry, watching the young reserves shine in an extended role, and just flat out enjoying what Danny Ainge has put in front of us. It is uncertain who will be in uniform for New Jersey tonight, along with Jason Kidd’s absence, but hopefully that means we’ll get to see former Boston College star Sean Williams get some extra run tonight in front of his old fans.

Update: Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson, and Nenad Krstic did not make the trip. For Boston, Tony Allen's status is questionable for tonight's game. I wouldn't expect him to suit up.

I’ll go with a safer pick, the two defensive minded bigs, Jason Collins and Kendrick Perkins. Collins is undoubtedly one of the better post defenders in the NBA, and while neither one of these guys are offensive minded, it’ll be interesting to see if Perk can keep himself out of foul trouble against a guy like Jason Collins (who gets excellent position).

Let's see how VC & RJ stack up agains PSquared & Ray-Ray. These two teams are going to be fighting for the Atlantic Division along with Toronto all season long. The Nets don't have any answer for KG at the 4 spot. I don't expect either coach to show much in this game and with cuts looming expect a lot of garbage time minutes for players on the bubble.

Leon Powe will dominate the Nets frontcourt. Too bad Boom Tho didn't make the cut. Two Cal guys matching up would have been awesome!

I'll laugh when Big Baby tosses your front court up and makes them look like little school girls. Actually, I'll just laugh when I get to see Big Baby stand up next to Eddie Gill.

    Thanks for the update, Real.

Haha this should be a solid thread with all of us here. All I need to see is Sean Williams block and dunk all over Big Baby so that we know we made the right decision.

    We're shooting 30%

Our bench players (tonights starters) have played less minutes than Boston's starters

And we're only down by 3

This does not bode well for the Celtics

I don't think Kidd will be playing Tuesday, but hey, with Kristic most likely starting, I think he can be part of the "big 3" for a night.
