My schedule is pretty bad nowadays so I decided to shell out an extra $10 bucks a month to James Dolan. I've had it for a few days now and it makes life so much easier.

I could imagine. I'd love having one, so I could watch NBA games, Scrubs, Family Guy, and cool movies like Se7en whenever I feel like it.

QUOTE (TucsonClip)

Pause, record, rewind, and fast forward are life savers.

Right on. I start every program late now. Half hour shows I start 8 minutes late, hour long shows 16 minutes late. Sporting events late, how late depending on time. I then fast forward through all commercials. It's awesome!
I'm suprised the the big companies still pay outragous fees for advertising, due to how many commercials I know I and others with a DVR/Tivo skip.
-Petey

I can't even live with one of these. I've had two hooked up to the same TV for a few years now and I can't tell you how much better life is with that setup.

HD eats up your space in a hurry.
2. You can record four things at once and watch something already recorded. No more choices!

I try to limit myself to three things at once in prime time so I can watch live sports if I wish.

Do you have to subscribe to get one? Can't you just buy a VCR-like machine that records on hard drives? I think my computer has this capability.

I'm too cheap to spend an extra $35 a month to upgrade to digital cable & rent a DVR.
They need to personalize Cable lineups. For instance, I'd dump all the shopping channels and the Coma inducing Golf channel for ESPNews & the BBC
