A lot of people have been blaming Grossman for the loss, and no doubt he deserves fair credit. I've even read a few commentaries (and made a few commentaries) that Rex was the real MVP for the Colts. But I think the blame on Rex is completely unfair. The blame goes squarely on the shoulders of the defense. The defense was allowing swing passes and delayed hand offs to go for 5 - 10 yards on a consistent basis. This lead to Manning being able to take long drives, control the tempo, and keep Rex & Co. off the field. I hope Chicago keeps Rex in as a QB. The guy does have talent and could be a solid QB if he learns how to play a little more relaxed.
All the blame can't be thrust upon him, but he is a backup quarterback in this league. The bears should find a better starter and keep him as their #2. I noticed that the bears were tackling very poorly yesterday, which is unacceptable at that level of competition.
I dont blame all the game on Grossman. He did do pretty bad. Yet, the Defense did bad! Except for #54.

I think Rex Grossman is probly the most inconsistent starting QB in the NFL. He could be a Pro Bowler one minute and ready to be the water boy on the next game. Grossmans Mechanics looked way off in the game, it looked like he was just slinging the ball.

Though how can you expect the Defense to play good when Grossman is leading the Bears to 3 and outs every time they get the ball. Chicago's D held the Colts to 3 field goals I believe. They stopped them in the red zone. Heading into the 4th, Chicago still had a chance to win but the inability to establish a drive eventually took their toll on the Defense. By no means am I saying it's all of Grossman's fault but I do believe that if Chicago had anyone of the other starting QB's that were in the playoffs this year, they would of won. If the Bears keep Grossman and lose Rivera and Briggs I honestly feel GB can compete with them for the division next year. We'll see what happens in the off season though but the Bears have a lot of things happening yet.
I belive it was half to blame on grossman.. not only ca=ould he had change the mentality but how the offense played the whole game. He just could not get settled he was driven in to taking more shots down field then he was in previous playoff games. And he just fell apart. He began trying to force balls into the recivers. He could not handle the ball all game, and he fumbled not once but twice. The man deserves minimum to half the blame. He changed the whole mentality of the game when he threw the pic that went for a td and also the pic (that looked like a 12 yr old threw) that he threw to Sanders. Bears defense had some minor difficultes but no doubt grossman had allot to do with what went down sunday.
we can place the blame on rex grossman, he had 4 turnovers by himself including 2 horrible passes which look like he just threw it up 4 grabs, and 2 fumbled snaps which was his fault, olin got the ball there. despite that the bears only lost by 12 points, that game was very winnable. yea the defense got nickled and dimed all the way downfield bcuz they didnt wanna give up the long bomb, our d-endz played like crap giving manning all day against average tackles that are not even that good, and when u let manning stay on the field 4 40 out of the 60 mins in a game, ur gonna lose. but rex does not even know the basic fundamentals of being a quarterback. knowing when 2 throw the ball away, getting the snap from the center, reading whether the defense in playing man or zone, he plays like he is scared and there aint no room 4 dat in the NFL. i dont wanna c him in a bears uniform next season
