Last night was surely a disappointment, as condensation on the hardwood floor forced the duel to end midway through. Tonight, let’s hope that we have a dry floor to play on at Mohegan Sun Arena. Celtics guard Ray Allen will experience somewhat of a homecoming, as he spent his college basketball playing days at the University of Connecticut (also known as “Uconn”). Speaking of Ray Allen, don’t expect him, or any other member of the new Celtics trio, to get extensive playing time in this one. Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce will get some much deserved rest throughout this next week, and likely won’t play on Monday. Enjoy the minimal time they will be on the court tonight, and when they aren’t, it will still be a pleasure to watch the young guys get significant run. We’ll likely get a long look at Gabe Pruitt running the show, as well as some extra time on the court for fellow rookies Glen “Big Baby” Davis and Brandon Wallace. Philadelphia (0-4 in preseason) has some intriguing young talent as well, in budding star Andre Iguodala, Rodney Carney, Louis Williams, and rookies Thaddeus Young and Jason Smith. This Sixers team should be among the NBA’s bottom feeders in 2008, but they will be fun to watch.

Paul Pierce may not get his usual time on the floor, but as long as Pierce and rising Sixers star Andre Iguodala are on the floor together, it will be very entertaining to watch. Iguodala is an electrifying young athlete who can hurt you on both ends of the floor, and if you let him get into the paint without a defender in front of him, he will gladly throw down a slam for SportsCenter. Heck, even if a defender is in the way, he may throw down a slam for SportsCenter. Defensively, he has done an excellent job on Paul Pierce in the past. It will be interesting to see if Pierce lets the young fella get the best of him tonight.

I don't see why they would take the night off if they only played 12 minutes last night. I understand it's four games in five nights, but after 12 minutes...?Also, we "won" last night?

I just updated the content of the game thread. Apparently, the trio may suit up tonight and sit out either Monday or Tuesday.

EDIT: Greg Dickerson just reported that KG, Pierce, and Perk will sit this one out. Ray will play because he's playing in front of his Connecticut fans. Dickerson also said that these guys are expected to play against the Knicks on Monday, and the amount of minutes they end up playing in that game will determine whether they give it a go on Tuesday or not. He didn't say who would start in place of KG, Paul, and Perk tonight, but I'd imagine Posey and Scal will get the call to fill two of those voids. Hopefully Powe gets the other spot.
