QUOTE

New York Daily News - After Jason Kidd got an epidural shot and an MRI exam on his back on Thursday, the Nets announced that their starting point guard would be back on the practice court next week. Now it looks like Kidd's return from a strained lower back won't be until the middle of the week, at best. Asked yesterday if Kidd could be back on the court by Monday, team president Rod Thorn expressed doubt, saying the veteran point guard needs several days of rest after getting a shot to relieve inflammation in his back. "I don't know about Monday," Thorn said. "After you get this shot it takes some time to settle down. So I wouldn't think that by Monday he'd be ready to practice."

Source

Thats the best thing they can do right now.
I don't really expect him to play any pre-season games, nor should he.

I think Kidd should just sit the rest of the preseason and let his back heal up. Maybe play the very last game before the season starts and thats it. Last thing we need is him breaking down a month into the season and becoming the next T-Mac.

Never mess with back injuries. Always smart to let them heal properly, or else they can linger for years.
