QUOTE

Luke Jackson better show up in a big way in the final two pre-season games, or he'll be shown the door.
That is not the official word from the Raptors organization, but with the club one player over the regular-season limit, Jackson appears to be the odd man out.
Oct. 29 is the deadline for NBA teams to cut rosters to 15 players, and the Raptors are currently carrying 16. Jackson, who plays mostly at the small forward position, has played in three of five pre-season games and has averaged only 9.11 minutes, along with 1.67 points, and is shooting 2-for-7 from the floor.
Unless he gets considerable minutes in the club's final two pre-season games, Thursday against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Friday against the Washington Wizards, it's likely he will be released. Not that he has been the only player to have struggled during the pre-season.
Forward Maceo Baston, who was signed as a free agent on July 23, also has played in three of the five pre-season games, and has averaged only eight minutes per game, with two rebounds.

The Toronto Sun

When we signed Baston I had a feeling we would use him alot more then we have so far, maybe its just pre-season but I have a feeling we wont be seeing alot of him on the court for the Raptors. As for Jackson, whether he stays or goes it doesnt really matter IMO because he is a non-factor to contributing to his team, and with Delfino in the mix now dont expect him to see any PT.

Surprised about Baston. Hearing and reading about him, I expected him to be a big part of the Raps this year.

He is just a solid bench player, who can play minutes when called upon. I see him as nothing more then that.

Little shocked to see that Baston is on the bubble as well. Ah well, overall i'm still comfortable with our team, although the front court outside of Bargs and Bosh is paper thin.

I don't know for sure but it seems like the odd man out would be Moon, despite his athleticism that everyone is raving about.

If the Raptors are worried about money that would probably happen, since Moon's the only one without a guaranteed contract I believe. But I think Luke Jackson should and will be cut. He showed flashes towards the end of last season, but Kapono is a much better version of him. With that signing, Luke now really doesn't bring anything new to the table, while Jamario's shown the type of athleticism and versatility that would fit in well on our roster.

^ I'm under the impression Martin, Baston, Jackson and Moon are all on non-guaranteed contracts. Martin's is a half-season guarantee or something, but that is moot because he will make the team.

According to Stumpy, only Moon and Martin don't have fully guaranteed contracts. Jackson making less than $800,000, which I believe the Raps would be happy to absorb.
It'll be Jackson to be cut, the glut of swingmen versus the derth at forward almost assures it.
