    General thoughts?

Looks like Green Bay would like to make move. The deciding factors according to John Clayton are.....

    1. Randy Moss willing to restructure his deal

I heard a report that he is willing to restructure his contract to come to Green Bay.

    2. Compensation - Oakland wants a 1st and Green Bay won't give that.

Moss is one of my favorite players and Favre and Moss on the same team would be fun and interesting to watch. The Packers don't need an all around good route running receiver. They have Jennings and Driver for that. They need a deep threat and that's what Moss is. I want it to happen but I'm not getting my hopes up.

    Here's an article confirming everything

Russell and Moss would be more dangerous combo than favre moss. It would be in Randy's best interest to stay with the Raiders.

Russell is going to be a rookie. I know he's your boy because your an LSU fan but I'm sure most receivers in the NFL would want to play for Favre rather than a rookie Russell. Plus Oakland is not the greatest situation to be in right now.

Also if the Raiders do move Moss then this could mean the Raiders want to select Calvin Johnson #1 overall instead of Russell. Russell came in at a soft 265 pounds at the combine and admitted to being out of shape.

Keith & Dan were discussing this on the DP show early today. Do you want Moss to stay in Oakland and possibly be a bad influence or do you send Moss elsewhere and rebuild?

Here's a rumor I saw; Moss to the Pack for Aaron Rogers.

I can't speak for the rest of the Dwo, but, I'd love to see Moss go to the Pats and hasten the demise of that "dynasty".

That rumor makes since for both teams. The Pack gets something for what appears to be wasted 1st round pick and the Raiders get rid of a malcontent and can draft a real football player rather than risking 30 million on another unproven rookie QB. Hell look how far Matt Leinart fell last year! There's no Matt Leinart in this years draft.

Although it probably means the Vikes would get smoked twice a year by Moss, I'd love to see this happen. Moss needs to get out of Oakland - he's not happy there and the fans are not happy with him. As long as he's there, he'll be a disappointment.

Get him to Green Bay, put him with a good leader, and let him run wild. I guarantee he'll have a 15 TD season if he gets to GB.

Wow I hope your right. I'm big Randy Moss fan as well and I really don't see him putting up those kind of numbers but I do agree that much of his decline has to do with the fact that Oakland is one of the worst offenses we've seen maybe in the entire decade.

I've heard two things so far that I find interesting. One I feel is realistic and the other I don't.

The 1st I heard was Aaron Rodgers for Randy Moss straight up. My best guess is this would allow the Raiders to select Calvin Johnson with the top overall pick instead of Jamarcus Russell.

I honestly doubt this happens as Green Bay does seem to have confidence in Rodgers and I think that's more so people blowing smoke.

The other I found interesting. Last night a California Radio Station ?allegedly? reported that Randy Moss would be dealt to Green Bay for a 2nd round pick in this years draft and an undisclosed draft pick in next years draft.

Now I could see something like that but the Packers apparently want to restructure Moss' contract from 9 to 10 mil to 4 to 5 mil a year. Right now Moss has like a 2 year 20 million dollar contract. The Packers would like to make that a 4 or 5 year 20 million dollar contract.

Moss does want to restructure. So this could get interesting in the next week. Though something that could put this to rest is Green Bay signing Joe Horn. He has a relationship with Mike McCarthy and the Packers have contacted his agent according to the Star Tribune.

ahhh got to love all the off season gossip. [IMG]

The Packs are most likely not to trade Aaron Rodgers for Moss because this is most likely Favre's last season so they will need to keep a young Quaterback in line but with Moss on the Packers Favre could just toss the ball in the air and moss will get they need a red zone threat and they can have it in Moss

The Raiders want a minimum of a 1st round pick for Moss. And to that I say go talk to Daniel Snyder b/c he's the only owner foolish enough to even consider that deal. I know the Pats have also been rumored to be interested, but I trully hope that isn't the case. They just got a guy in Wes Welker who is the ANTI-Moss. He gives 100% on EVERY play.

Im going to go out on a limb and say he doesnt get traded because:
    1. His effort just isnt there anymore
    2. Most coaches dont wanna deal with his problems
    3. His salary is still going 2 be high even if he restructures a little
    4. He is 30 years old
    5. He isnt pro-team, he is pro-randy
    6. Raiders are asking too much
    7. Raiders need him for next year, maybe the Jamarcus to Randy connection will thrive.

Why give up a day one pick on a 30 year old reciever barely goes 50%, there are a lot of good young recievers in this draft, with way less baggage then Randy Moss. Moss is a good receiever when he tries, but a team trading a 1st, 2nd or early 3rd for him is dumb.

By transactions I hope you mean overpaying for players who'll be released in 2 years because that respective team can't afford their contract.

The last I saw Favre was about to retire 5 years ago and yet he's still playing.

Also a rookie QB behind a bad offensive line with an average running game is not something I would want to be apart of especially in the AFC.

How do you know that for sure? With the salary cap continuing to escalate a franchises ability to hold on to their own is getting easier each year.
