Malik Allen has had a very productive camp, showing his professionalism, intelligence, and knock-it-down mid-range jump shot. Unfortunately, in practice today, he hurt his left foot when he came down on the foot of another player. He was taken for x-rays; Coach Frank was concerned. Fortunately, X-rays on the foot were negative. He received treatment today and will be re-evaluated Monday morning

--

Jason Kidd was back at the practice facility today. He did not practice but felt better, according to Frank. He did a little early shooting with Bob Thate, got treatment with Head Trainer Tim Walsh, and watched practice. Frank said he hopes they can get him back on the court in the next couple of days.

--

Frank said that the initial decision on the rotation - who starts, who is first off the bench - is getting "closer and closer."

"The big thing is if Krstic is going to be ready (to start). With Collins, I still think he is going to start right now. It’s still up to competition but if we had to make a decision right now, I think we would probably go in that direction. With Krstic, the big thing is how is he going to continue to make progress. What do you do to assess for him physically; this next week will help with that. And then off the bench, we have to decide in terms of backup point guard. Who wins that competition. With the frontcourt it’s going to be an interesting deal...We have some really good things to work with. It’s a positive situation.”

--

Speaking of Krstic, just want to note an observation from today - one which could be noted across most days . After a full practice - in which he was on the floor since 10am - there he was, the last one on the floor at 2pm, taking passes in the post from Assistant Coach Bill Cartwright. Every move was precise, purposeful. His 5-of-5 from the field performance against the Knicks in his first game back in 10 months was impressive, but for the time he puts in, it should not be a surprise.

Nenad Krstic is gonna be makin it rain from beyond the arc. He'll win MIP before you can say 'Mikki Moore'

In this new offense, we need to get the ball to Krstic more often.

    Would be damn smart.

Wow, he got better in a hurry. People were saying he wouldn't be fine till January.

Krstic strikes me as a very determined player. He may be cautious when it comes to his injury, but you can tell he's looking to get back on the court as soon as possible.

Before the injury he was balling for 33 minutes a night putting up 16.4 points and grabbing about 7 boards. Will he average this in November? He's better true, but can he put up those kinds of numbers starting with opening day?

It's good to see his shooting is great as ever, but I'm wondering about his rebounding.

I'd like to see him pull at least 7 down again, that made me content.

Also, I wanna see how he defends...I hope the next preseason game is on TV.
