MONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins are pretty hot, but theywill get a stern test against their old rival, the MontrealCanadiens.


The Bruins aim for their fifth straight win when they visit theCanadiens on Monday.


Backup goaltender Manny Fernandez stopped 26 shots and PhilKessel scored the lone goal in Saturday's shootout win over theNew York Rangers.


Part of the reason the Bruins have been so hot is theirsuffocating defense. The team's No. 1 netminder Tim Thomas leadsthe league with a 1.26 goals-against average and Boston hasallowed two goals or less in all but two games this season.

Still, their impressive streak will be put to the test againstthe Canadiens. The Bruins have lost three straight to them and12 of the last 16 meetings.


Meanwhile, Montreal snapped a three-game skid on Saturday with a4-2 win over Buffalo. The Canadiens caught a break in the gameas the go-ahead goal went in off Sabres' defenseman Toni Lydman.

Montreal had scored just five goals in three games prior to thatfour-goal performance.


While the Bruins boast the league's top goaltender thus far,Canadiens netminder Cristobal Huet has been stellar as well.Huet stopped 25 shots in Saturday's win and has a 2.14 GAAin five starts this season. He is also 5-2 with a 2.04 GAA ineight career starts against Boston.
