It may not have been obvious to lesser minds, but the NFL Network's slight against the Dolphins is glaring to me. This morning, the NFL Network ran a chart that had pictures of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Dan Marino and stats comparing Brady's numbers this year to Manning's and Marino's from their record setting touchdown pass seasons. Behind Brady and Manning were the Patriots and Colts logos respectively. Behind Marino's pic was the Hall of Fame logo. Yes, Marino was a first ballot Hall of Famer, but he spent his entire 17 year career playing for the Miami Dolphins. Marino is a Miami Dolphin and will be forever, so put the Dolphins logo behind his picture. While the NFL Network is at it, perhaps they could try and offer some constructive remarks about why the Dolphins are struggling rather than simply laughing when Dolphin players vent out of frustration. Jason Taylor made a comment about the Dolphins not being able to win in America so they will try to win in another country and all the sock puppets in suits had to offer was laughter. What exactly are they drawing paychecks for? Just replace them with a laugh track. I'm just sick of the NFL offices having pet teams and players.

I think you're just having a hard time dealing with the season and you're making a big deal out of things that aren't really anything. Sure, Marino played for the Dolphins, but he doesn't currently so it's not really a big deal to me. And the commentators should be laughing at the Dolphins because they are pretty pathetic this year. A lot of people predicted them to be a playoff team this year and they can't even win a game. Tom Brady picks them apart and basically does whatever he wants for 3 quarters and then you have the face of the franchise Jason Taylor celebrating because he picked off the backup quaterback and scored a touchdown to bring them within 30 (or whatever it was). Sure nobody respects the team, but thats because they don't deserve any respect.

Dale is handling this season w/ dignity & grace. Me? I can't control it so I'm not stressed at all. There really only is 1 way for the phins to go.... sideways... y'all did not think I meant up did ya?
I could direct to a phins exclusive site where there are some real pinheads masquerading as Miami fans.
As I recall, no one predicted the phins to do jack this year. It seems like 5 or 6 wins was the rule rather than exception. It was '06 that the "experts" who now scoff @ the phins expected big things. But, lets not get started on the backlash Dale, Beef, & I had to put up with because they were thought of so highly & then failed to live up to someone's elses expectations.
Silly idealistic me thought journalists were supposed to be objective.
Jason Taylor is not the face of the franchise... current or otherwise. The current face of the franchise is his brother-in-law. Dan, Don, Larry, & Bob are all faces of the franchise in years gone by.
Maybe its just me butif you watch other teams highlights. (It does not matter who) they will also show team X doing something spectacular against the phins. Could it be because the league is HQ'ed in the Northeast where the phins divisonal rivals are or like when people gun for Notre Dame you just go for a distinguished institution/franchise that for the most part has a solid positive relatively stable history? Remember; the best conspiracies are the hardest to prove.
And if you are not down w/ that.....................!

Imight be off base w/ this but here is something that may prove Dale's assertion.
It seems that we, as phins fans, are just supposed to lie down, roll over, play dead, turn the other cheek, etc... when other people are "criticizing" Miami yet we can't 1) point out our favorite teams flaws i.e we should be kool aid drinkin pom-pom waivers like some of you, 2) can't defend the phins too strenuously, & 3) absolutely can not bring up the flaws of another franchise or personnel related to that enitity.

It's not all Dale's fault. All old people are a little bitter and crotchity.

media bias against the phins
QUOTE (blackadder)

Maybe its just me butif you watch other teams highlights. Heaven forbid he make fun of the Bengals who are tailor made for the pokey i.e they already wear Orange & stripes.

Yeah I would attribute the logo difference by the fact that they were showing their current teams; Marino having none.
Plus even if that's not the reason, being known as a Hall of Famer is a bit more prestigious than being known as a guy who played for the Dolphins. I'm would think that when future greats are being compared to Brady and Manning that those two are distinguished with the same honor.

The Dolphins have a great winning tradition and have already produced two great Hall of Fame QBs in their short history. If Marino were a Detroit Lion or Arizona Cardinal them maybe I would understand your point a little better, but he's a Miami Dolphin.

I didn't think any announcercould make me sicker than Joe Theismann, but Cris just jumped to the front of that list. That piece of crap really owes Zach Thomas an apology.

No my point was more a statement on the privilege of being in the Hall, than it was a statement on the Dolphins. My feelings still hold true for any Cowboys in the Hall; playing for the Cowboys is a priveldge itself, but the Hall is a whole different animal.
