    ess than 24 hours after one of their most grueling practices of the preseason, the Hawks turned in one of their most precise and crisp overall efforts, according to their coach.</p>

    Saturday's nearly three-hour session left many a body bruised and battered. Sunday's effort was a different story, with the players moving at a swift pace in drills and the mistakes, both mental and physical, at a minimum.</p>


    "You can chalk a lot of this up to these guys understanding the things we've been hammering home to them from the start," coach Mike Woodson said. "We've talked repeatedly about the importance of practicing the way you want to play. That was the case when I played and that's always been the case, from a coaching standpoint, that directly impacts a team on game night.</p>

    "We've spent the last three years instilling that philosophy and I think that for the most part these guys have adopted that as their code."</div></p>
