Arsène Wenger has no intention of ever becoming Arsenal chairman.

Ahead of last week’s AGM, the current incumbent, Peter Hill-Wood, suggested the French manager would be a good choice to takeover once his coaching career was over.

It is not as fanciful as it sounds. Wenger is one of the few football managers in possession of an economics degree. However he does not want the position.

“No thank you very much,” said the 58-year-old. “I prefer green grass to carpets.”

Yeh can't see him permanantyl in a board room. He will be with Arsenal till he passes away i think. Look at it, He was an Unknown when he came to the Gunners, I think he was managing some Jap club. Now look widely regarded by fans, Players and fellow managers as oneof the best ever.I love you Arsene

Yeah, the man is very wise, I prefer to have him on the pitch also, instead of sitting in an office and smoking cigars...lol. A manager that doesnt have to turn to spending (Madrid,Manu,Liverpool,Barca,Chelsea) to get success is quite an accomplishment, thats what distinguishes him from the rest, also his keen eye for talent.

Indeed thats what makes me laugh about Liverfool. They spent between £40-£50mill in the summer and look where they are. Arsenal actually Spent less then they made and they are Way in front of Liverpool. Justce, Surely.

Maybe in the future, I agree with him, he should stay as manager right now, and after he is done winning all the trophies he wants, then maybe make a move.
