    <span style="font-style: italic">Oct 23</span> - Third-year forward Amir Johnson practiced Monday for the first time since suffering a sprained left ankle more than two weeks ago.</p>

    If Johnson is cleared to play in the Pistons' final exhibition Wednesday against Washington, coach Flip Saunders said he'll log some major minutes.</p>

    Johnson said he knew how important it was for him to have a strong camp but remained confident he can make up for lost time.</p>

    "It was a little bit disappointing because I've been waiting patiently for so long, but it doesn't bother me now," he said. "I'll bounce back, do my thing." -- <font color="#000000">Detroit Free Press</font></p>

    [*]Despite this being Detroit's last preseason game, they won't play their season opener -- at Miami -- until a week later. That means that Johnson will have one game and week's worth of practices to prove he belongs in the regular rotation.
