Sure it is a long shot, but how close to you think KG will get to averaging a triple double this season? His career high 6.0 APG, but he has never had players like Pierce and Ray to feed.

I'd say he has a shot at it with the situation he's in. Doc Rivers wants to play uptempo basketball so there will be more opportunities for KG to make plays and pad his stats across the board. Averaging 10 assists will obviously be the hardest accomplishment out of the three, but he has a great shot at it this season.
I'm also interested to see how many 5x5 games he can post up this season.

No, put simply. He just won't be able to get enough assists. To average 10 per night is something only the best floor generals achieve, and mixed in with probably 20-25 points, and all his blocks and rebounds I just can't see him do it.

What about Bron? What if he steps his game up...again?
And no, I don't think KG will come close to Oscar.

Bron will step up his game but who does he have? Besides Hughes and Big Z?
KG might not be able to match the Big O, but I'm sure he'll come closely. I'm with cpawfan on this one, we're going to see a drop in the points category and an increase else where, including assists, I mean comon, having Ray and Paul on your team, all you have to do is pass it to them lol. What I like about KG is that he's damn fast for his size and should be able to do just fine in the uptempo offense.

KG had 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in 32 minutes. Yes it was preseason, but each of the big 3 played 30+ minutes.

KG is unbelievable, but he is not going to average a triple-double. I'm not much of a stats guy, but I'd say he'll hover somewhere around 5 assists per game this year.

I don't think he'll average terribly more than he has in the past. Yes, he is playing with twotalented perimeterteammates, but he's also playing with two players who are going to have the ball moreso than any teammates Garnett's had since Cassell, they're going to be creating a lot of their own offense.

I don't see how letting Allen or Pierce create their own offense instead of treating them like KG's Trenton Hassell's is a bad thing. People act like the wings are just incapable without KG.

He won't average more than 6.5 assists, if that.
Only Nash has averaged 10+ assists in each of the past three seasons. No one else. The last player other than Nash to average 10+ assists in a single season is Andre Miller; he did it back in 2002. After that, it was Kidd in 2000 and 1999. Then, you have the dominance of John Stockton. Clearly, it's not easy to average 10+ assists in a single season if only 5 or 6 guys have done it in the past 15 or so years. The probability of a big man such as KG doing so is remote. So, no, KG will not even come close to averaging a triple double this year.

Did I say all three of them would play clearout all day?....All I was saying was that Garnett wouldn't be controlling the ball as much as people are letting on, not enough to get as many assists as people are declaring, I agree with JCB, it's too hard to pile up assists unless you have the ball almost exclusively in your hands.

I think he has a real shot because they're sure to run their plays through him. And like a few have already said, he's going to be passing to Allen, Pierce, and even the rest of the Celtics players. I don't see that his scoring is going to suffer all that much, either.
