QUOTE

CBS Sports’ Tony Mejia believes that the Nets can get back to the NBA Finals if things go right this season. And if they do, Mejia likes Jason Kidd as an MVP candidate, citing the point guard’s longevity and all-around game.

Nets preview: Expect Kidd to make run for MVP award

Jason Kidd = MVP

Unfortunately there isn't enough media attention paid to the Nets for him to be a serious candidate. I thought he was a valid one last year, but it was not to be.

Kidd is the heart of the team. Without him, you guys probaby wouldn't make the playoffs.
To me he is the #1 pg in the league.

Doing something special will bring the media around. Team wise or individually. Kidd's publicity will increase when the Nets win 50-60 games and be the dominant force in the east.....otherwise, it's more of the same.

We definitely have the firepower to make the finals. This is the most excited I have been for a season in a while. I really do believe the frontcourt platoon is going to make this team 100% better. Each player brings something different to the table. Guard depth concerns me a bit, but hopefully Marcus will heal up quickly, and Kidd will be ready to go. There is no reason to doubt him, he has never let us down in the past. I understand he is getting older, but his play should be as solid as ever.

But he almost always proves them wrong, and there's nothing I've seen that makes me doubt that it'll happen again.
This back injury thing should be nothing, and if it is, it'll prolly be dealt with by the playoffs...so we should have nothing to worry about.

As long as we get into the playoffs, we should be able to make a run. That should not be a problem, because we have made moves to improve on last season. By the time May rolls around, we should have a fully healthy squad with the ability to make the finals, and hopefully, win.
