Unless you haven't heard, the Ravens traded Willis McGahee for a third round and seventh round pick in 07 and a third round in 08.

Clearly a trade the Ravens clearly won. This is what the Ravens have done the best at. We were really into a hole early in free agency and slowly climbed up the hole with signings of Jarret Johnson, Musa Smith, and trading for McGahee.

Possibly the best move by far trade-wise, even better than Jones to the Jets. There are doubters though. When making to move to get McGahee, he brought the fact that he's had an ACL injury, he's not really a team player, and is basically an overrated back.

But look what the Ravens see from our point of view. He is another Cane, he has history with Ed Reed and Ray Lewis. The Ravens are good about discipline and he's young at the age of 25. Though he doesn't have the best yards per carry, it was because he was with the Bills. Clearly nothing good happens there. The Ravens aren't expected for him to be the next Jamal Lewis that has a 2000 yard season. The only thing we expect of him is to move the chains.

The biggest question mark is clearly the offensive line. For McGahee, it's a definite upgrade for him. The Bills shuffled their line throughout the season and that didn't help him. Though the Ravens doesn't have the best line, it is better than Buffalo's. From left to right, the Ravens have Jonathan Ogden (Pending is retirement decision) Jason Brown (Who has impressed the Ravens to release Edwin Mulitalo) Chris Chester (Who seems slated to start ahead of Mike Flynn) TBD (Someone from the draft or Keydrick Vincent) and Adam Terry (May start left if Ogden retires, if he does then a draft pick will start).

There is a possibility Ogden may retire since the Ravens cut Mulitalo who was a close friend who played next to him on the left side. But let's hope the trade may balance it out.

The Ravens have cleared the void a outside linebacker and running back so far. The other voids are Fullback, Cornerback, Offensive Guard, Offtensive Tackle, and Backup Quarterback.

All points to the Ravens taking a linemen in the first round which I hope is either Justin Blalock or Tony Ugoh. Maybe in the second round they can take Drew Stanton if available or another linemen.

Though the Ravens didn't seem to hesitate trading picks, it's because the Ravens have alot of compensatory picks. Many criticize the Ravens for letting good players go. But the Ravens know what they are doing. They get these picks from losing players like Gary Baxter, Ma'ake Kemoeatu, Anothony Weaver, and Adalius Thomas. Though I don't know how the process works, they get rewarded because they lose quality players. The Ravens play that game the best and that is why they are always competitors when it comes to the AFC. The picks have also been rewarding also. With those picks, they have been able to pick players like Ovie Mughelli and Chester Taylor.

They seriously don't make a huge splash early in free agency but play quietly and make their noise late with those who don't get alot of attension and during draft day. Taking younger players is the key to a successful franchise which is proven with the salary cap.

BTW, hats off to Ozzie Newsome!

You shouldn't be quick to say that. What about the Cleveland Cavaliers? King LeBron still rules there! Oh wait, nevermind.
