Michael Grange, who is the reporter with the best inside track when it comes to the Raptors, says that:
"Moon promises to be one of Toronto's feel-good stories. An NBA rookie at 27 after playing in the lowest of professional basketball's minor leagues, the 6-foot-8 forward is all but guaranteed a roster spot at this stage." (link)
There are even some people saying he could be our starting small forward because he provides us with things we are lacking with guys like Garbo and Kapono--namely athleticism, speed, jumping ability, and perimeter defense.
Pretty crazy considering this guy languished in the lowest of pro leagues not too long ago.

Do I smell a Matt Bonner style fan favourite here? It would be great if he made the club, let alone being anywhere near the starting lineup. I haven't had a chance to see him play that much this preseason but the report on him seem to suggest his got a future in this league.
Some people are just late bloomers I guess.

ROY! ROY!

He is probably going to be relegated to towel-waving but when you give guys like him a shot, usually they give you 110%, whereas a veteran on the minimum might whine and moan about not getting burn.

Yeah but at least that veteran knows the ups and does and more importantly what the playoffs are like. I say this fully realizing that a rookie probably had the biggest positive impact on the team last spring against the Nets.

moon is impressive, no arguring that but really a starter??
im just going by his preseason performance games that ive seen so far, his dunks are fabolous and all but then his playing time was mostly when the game was at no risk of losing, how is he going to hold up during a real game pressures? im rooting for moon though, possibly the modern day cinderella story???,,,,,,,,

It would be nice and the team is made up of great stories. He seems to have the work ethic that Smitch likes and will probably get some burn based on his attitude and intensity alone but k_b I think you're right to wonder what can he do against NBA regulars before we can even really seriously consider him a starter. We don't coach the team and Smitch might be using him to get under the other guys skin but I would be shocked, if he stated many games this season (unless the depth change radically).

That's crazy...I've never even heard of this guy, and now he's coming out of nowhere to become the Raptor's starting SF?
Is he a strong defensive player? Maybe that's why he might be starting over the other guys on the team.

No way is he going to be a starter, he barely gets minutes in preseason and then all of a sudden he gets a starting position during the regular season?

He won't start, because he hasn't proven anything yet. He has that potential, and will be a guy to play 10-15 minutes per (maybe). The thing with him, we all know he has natural athletic ability, but can he use that with basketball skill too. That is what I want to see.
